🧠 Su***de Rate Among Indian Men: A Silent Crisis
Men in India die by su***de at disproportionately high rates, often due to family and marital stress (NCRB, 2019; PMC, 2013), health issues (NCRB, 2019; PMC, 2013), and financial distress like unemployment or debt (Tribune India, 2024; The Lancet, 2023).
The 25–44 age group remains the most vulnerable (Tribune India, 2024; The Lancet, 2023), burdened by expectations to be emotionally stoic and financially stable—pressures that often go unseen and untreated.
Globally, the risk doesn’t fade with age: U.S. data shows su***de rates peak among men aged 65+ at 43.7 per 100,000 (CDC Data Brief 509, 2024), underscoring the persistent need for psychological support throughout life.
