Chemotherapy has traditionally involved the use of cytotoxic (cell-killing) drugs that attack rapidly dividing cells, which include both cancerous and some healthy cells (like those in hair follicles or the gastrointestinal tract). This often leads to significant side effects. However, recent advances have made chemotherapy more targeted, improving effectiveness while reducing harm to normal tissue. One major innovation in this direction is the development of Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADCs).
