Graves' Disease is an autoimmune disorder that causes the overproduction of thyroid hormones, leading to a condition called hyperthyroidism. It is one of the most common causes of hyperthyroidism and occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks the thyroid gland, causing it to become overactive.

Causes:

Diagnosis:
Blood tests to check thyroid hormone levels (T3, T4) and TSH levels
Antibody tests to detect TSI
Thyroid scan or radioactive iodine uptake test

Antithyroid drugs (e.g., methimazole) to reduce hormone production.
Beta-blockers to control symptoms like rapid heartbeat.
Radioactive iodine therapy: Shrinks the thyroid gland by damaging overactive thyroid cells.
