Children often reflect the unresolved family dynamics.

If your child is angry and violent, maybe the child is showing you something that is happening or not happening in the house. Maybe the child is doing what they are seeing in the house or they are expressing suppressed emotions for a parent/family member.

If your child constantly wants you to buy things for them, is the child getting enough love, and attention from you - the parents? Many times, a child wants things, be it food or clothes or shoes or gadgets, to fill a void inside. A void which is created because of the absence of the parents, love and attention.

So are you fully available and present as a parent for your child?

If yes, then there might be other factors at play here like ancestral identification. Even that, you as a parent can look into and you don’t have to burden your child with sending them for ancestral healing.

For children under 18 years of age, there are age appropriate therapies when needed, but please do not make your children your project for healing. Most likely it is ‘your’ unresolved issues, which you are trying to suppress by making your children your healing project.

This is LOVE!

Love of a child for her family. This is love that bonds and connects.
This is love which helps the child to belong.
Love that merges a child with her ancestors.

However, this love BLOCKS the adult from a healthy, happy and successful life.

The child loves and the adult suffers.

Healing happens when the adult can step out of this merged state and bow down to the ancestors saying -
“I will find different ways of loving you.”
“By loving myself and my body, I honor you.”
“By taking care of myself, I honor your pain.”
“You will see a beautiful life through me because you are a part of me. I am made of you.”

And not just this, the adult must take care of the (inner)child who merged.
The adult must make better lifestyle choices - nutrition, exercise, boundaries, sleep.
The adult must learn to honor her/their menstrual cycle.

Love can enlighten you or make you blind. The choice is yours!

When fact is separated from feeling, nervous system relaxes.
When we integarte, we can let go of what is not ours.

Healing begins when the perspective expands to hold all possibilities.

Look at the bigger picture.
Spot the patterns.
Break the cycle.
This is what integration looks like.

These few things are what can make us different as an adult self to our inner child, compared to our parents.

If growing up, you were not allowed to make decisions, choose for your self, if you were given unwanted advice and suggestions or you were gaslighted, you were made to think it is your fault, you were made to think that your emotions are useless and must not be shown - then it is very important that now you offer your inner child the ability to make decisions to accept them and acknowledge their emotions exactly as they are.

👉 This is what helps reprogram the subconscious and create new and better neural pathways for healing.

As adults, we do not want to reinforce what was done to us by others around us. To change, we must be willing to change our responses to our inner child, to the younger parts of ourselves.

Both sets of my great-grandparents and grand-parents left everything behind during India-Pakistan partition. They were uprooted from their land, their life, everything they knew to be home.

When they came to this newly formed country, they carried a deep sense of loss and belonging, a crippling fear of survival, feelings of betrayal and maybe, just maybe some hope that things will be fine.

They had to create strategies for survival, coping mechanisms to deal with all the pain inside them and find enough courage and will to forge a new life. Their children(my parents+siblings) inherited the same stragtegies, mechanisms and an overwhlemed nervous system.

In these 3 generations, some of them shut down their emotions, some learnt to be in control all the time, some feared authority and others fought back at every chance. Many of them learnt to fit in, because standing out could have been fatal.

And this is what I and my generation of children received as emotional inheritance. Even as we live in an independent nation, we not fully free. The past still has a hold on us.

We are anxious, angry, fearful. Parents have been absent, men have been excluded and children have been taking care of their parents. Fear is still present but its roots do not lie in our generation.

Over the last few years, in many sessions, workshops and trainings, I have learnt so much about myself and my family system.

The most important thing - They survived. Despite everything, they did their best for themselves and their children. Because they survived, I have life today. I am because of them.

I have learnt to look at the past and to honor all that happened. I have understood that I am too small to carry the fate of my ancestors. I bow down to them and their fate🙏🏽

As I look forward confidently, I feel them all behind me as a force of love. I take the gifts and life in its full strength and I allow it to flow through me. I feel full and give from this fullness.
