Deep Goel is an Indian surgeon[1][2] known for laparoscopic, Robotic Gastro-Onco and Bariatric surgery.[3] He was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, England, and of the American College of Surgeons, United States. He was appointed as a specialist registrar[4] at Royal London Hospital. He is currently working as a director of the Minimal Access, Bariatric and Surgical Gastroenterology Department of BLK Super Speciality Hospital in New Delhi.[5]
Biography
Deep Goel was born in 1967.[6] He graduated in medicine (MBBS) from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, in 1991, and received a diplomate from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, in 1996.
Goel was appointed as a specialist registrar in the Department of General Surgery and Minimal Invasive Surgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, in 1996.[7] He was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, England, in 1998. Goel then received a fellowship from Mount Sinai Medical School, New York, US, in the Department of Minimal Invasive, Bariatric and Colorectal Surgery. After that he departed for the fellowship in Minimal Invasive and Gastrointestinal Onco Surgery at Bagatelle Hospital, Bourdaux, France.[8]
In 2007, he became Head of Surgical Specialties, Department of Minimal Access, Bariatric and GI Onco surgery at the Artemis Health Institute, Gurgaon.[9] In 2013, he was awarded a fellowship in the American College of Surgeons as a GI oncologist and bariatric surgeon. Deep Goel is currently[when?] working at BLK Super Speciality Hospital as a senior consultant and director of bariatric and advanced laparoscopy surgery.[10]
