Here are few tips out of many that a caregiver can keep in mind while taking care of a loved one who is going through mental distress.
As a caregiver you have to be empathetic, patient and full of compassion to take certain responsibilities. But it is also important that you save time for yourself.
It’s important to eat well, get enough sleep, and get regular exercise. And a good caregiver finds time to do something they enjoy. You can’t take care of others well if you don’t take care of yourself.
Being present for the loved one and for yourself also.

We hear the phrase "emotionally unavailable" thrown around quite a bit, but what does that even mean?
Emotionally unavailable people tend to find relationships challenging.
Being emotionally unavailable describes someone who is not open to discussing or sharing their feelings.

Signs someone is emotionally unavailable are:
1. They don't communicate consistently and have a hard time sharing and discussing emotions and feelings.
2. They avoid deep conversations and avoid labeling an emotion or a relationship.
3. They confuse people with their inconsistent behavior.
4. They have difficulty understanding other's emotions.
5.They are unclear of what they want.
6. They withhold personal feelings and emotions.
7. Difficulty having emotional conversation with other people.
8. Have lack of self awareness.
