Last week, I had the privilege of discussing advancements in veterinary pharmaceuticals with a very senior veterinary expert. As we talked about new product launches, particularly PETOPENEM-FR, which Oriheal Lifesciences introduced in August 2024 as India’s first Faropenem Sodium formulation for small animals, an important concern was raised.

She rightly questioned whether advanced antibiotics like Faropenem Sodium are truly needed in small animal practice and whether their introduction could contribute to antibiotic resistance. This is a valid and crucial discussion for the veterinary community.

At Oriheal Lifesciences, our core mission is to equip Indian veterinarians with cutting-edge treatment options while ensuring responsible antibiotic stewardship. The reality is that many infections remain difficult to treat, and several bacteria exhibit specific antibiotic sensitivity.
