Dr. Jeewan Singh Titiyal, a renowned ophthalmologist, has bid an emotional farewell to AIIMS after an incredible 46 years of dedicated service. His retirement marks the end of an exceptional chapter in Indian medical history.¹

Dr. Titiyal's remarkable career is filled with numerous achievements. He's credited with performing the first live cornea transplantation surgery among Indian surgeons and has conducted over 75,000 surgeries.² He's also known for his groundbreaking work in corneal transplantation and refractive surgery, with research publications in international journals like The Lancet.

Throughout his career, Dr. Titiyal has received numerous awards and honors for his outstanding contributions to the field of medicine. Some of his notable awards include:

- *Padma Shri* (2014) for his outstanding contribution to medicine³ ⁴
- *Distinguished Service Award* (2021) by the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology
- *P. Siva Reddy International Award* (2021-22) by the All India Ophthalmological Society
