My Dear Friends and Well-wishers,

I am delighted to share with you that I have recently joined as the Director and Professor of the Center for Yoga, Wellness, and Integrative Medicine at Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences and Technology (MGUMST), Jaipur.

My academic journey in Yoga began at Karnataka University, Dharwad, in 1989, and continued at the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, New Delhi, where I served as its Director from 2005 to 2023. After a brief sabbatical, I opted to return to my first love – teaching and practicing Yoga.

In the beginning of 2024, my wife Kusuma and I established Appaa Yoga Academy in New Delhi and Dharwad. During this time, I received several offers and opportunities, but I remained committed to my passion for Yoga teaching.

In October, I visited MGUMST, Jaipur, at the invitation of Professor (Dr.) Achal Gulati, Vice Chancellor of the University. During my meeting with Dr. Gulati and the Hon'ble Founder Chairman, Dr. M.L. Swarankar, we discussed establishing an international-standard Center for Yoga and Integrative Medicine. I was humbled to be offered the opportunity to lead this initiative.

As I embark on this new journey, I am reminded of my previous institutions, Karnataka University and Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, which shaped my Yoga journey and provided a platform for me to serve and promote Yoga globally.

I am grateful for your continued support and encouragement. I invite you to join me on this new path, as we explore the depths of Yoga and Integrative Medicine together, the future journey of wellness .
