Our Story

Three and a half years ago, Rajiv Mathur, a technology veteran with vast global experience, saw the need for bringing high quality, ‘out of hospital’ healthcare to India.

While the market of general home healthcare of providing Care Givers was large with little barriers to entry, the need to provide Critical Care in the home was more profound.

The birth and growth is embedded in 3 stories:

‘’TAKE ME HOME’

A highly accomplished lady teacher of Delhi, who had been in and out of coma in ICU over 22 days and too weak to speak, wrote on a piece of paper - ’take me home’.

This was really the EUREKA moment for CCU!

2. “DON’T WANT TO MOVE”

Another highly educated lady, living alone in an independent bungalow of South Delhi, refused to move closer to her daughter when seriously ill. She wanted her illness to be treated at her home where she had spent over 40 years.

3. “GO FOR IT”

A globally acclaimed, cardio-vascular surgeon, running one of the largest hospitals in India, enthusiastically endorsed Rajiv’s idea of taking Critical Care to the doorstep. He saw it as a WIN-WIN situation for the hospital too; where ICU beds needed to be turned over to keep accommodating more acute patients needing surgery or other emergency care.

Three and half years on, CCU has developed robust SOPs for providing Critical Care at Home which did not exist thus far.

In addition, CCU has developed a large pool of nursing who are trained to serve patients requiring ICU type services in their home.

Currently operating in Delhi/NCR, Mumbai and Punjab, CCU is now poised for rapid growth across the country; leveraging technology for real-time monitoring, support and positively affecting outcomes of treatment.
