Help and Heal Foundation Trust organised a Parent’s Counselling session at Raisina Bengali (Junior) School, Chittaranjan Park, Delhi on 8th August 2025 under the Vidyanjali initiative, Govt. Of India.
The session was conducted by Dr. Monica Kundu Srivastava, of the Neuroaid & Research Foundation, on behalf of Help and Heal Foundation Trust.
The session aimed to guide parents on effective approaches to support their children’s overall development, with a special emphasis on understanding and addressing the diverse needs of children, including those with special needs. Dr. Kundu highlighted the importance of a nurturing home environment, clear communication between parents and children, and active collaboration between parents and teachers to ensure consistent support for the child’s academic, emotional, and social growth. She also touched upon strategies to identify early signs of learning difficulties, behavioural concerns, and emotional challenges, stressing the value of timely intervention. The session encouraged parents to practice patience, empathy, and active listening, while also promoting structured routines and healthy lifestyle habits for children. Parents were reminded that their involvement plays a crucial role in shaping a child’s confidence, resilience, and motivation to learn.
Overall, the counselling session was informative and provided parents with valuable insights and practical tips to help them better understand and support their children’s needs, particularly those requiring special attention.
