It is a disease manifested by periodical occurence of roughness over any part of skin.
It is caused by Sauwdā Muhtarag (Burnt black bile).
It is characterized by appearance of round elevated, itchy, scaly
and blackish or reddish patches on the affected part of skin.

*Usül-e ilāj (Principles of treatment):*

Tanqiya-e Sawdä (Evacuation of black bile)

*Ilaj bil-Dawā (Pharmacotherapy):*

*Joshanda Aftimün.
*Local application of paste of Murdär Sang, Roghan Gul and vinegar.
*Local application of paste of Gandhak, Behroza and vinegar.
*Local application of paste of Ushq and
vinegar.

*Compound drugs*

Itrifal Aftimoon 5gm morning and evening.
Majoon Najah 5gm Bedtime
Marham Qüba for Local application

*Irsal-e Alag (Leeching)
*Fasd (Bloodletting)
*Hijama (cupping)
*Hammam (Bath)

*Introduction:*
It is the type of headache in which only one half of head is afflicted with pain.Sometimes it involves the whole head.

It is caused by Bukhärāt (Vapours), arising towards the head from the
body or by Akhlät Harra (Hot humours) or Barida (Cold humours).
It is characterized by the episodic throbbing pain in only one half of
head (especially in Damawi type) due to lesser quantity of causative
matter.
There may be relief in pain when the throbbing artery is pressed. The headache is frequently accompanied with Tanin
(Tinnitus) and Ghasayān (Nausea).

*Usül-e'ilāj (Principles of treatment):*
*Taskīn-e Dard (Analgesia
*Istifrägh (Evacuation) of causative Khilt (Humour)
*Taqwiyat-e Dimāgh (Toning up of brain

*Ilaj bil-Dawā (Pharmacotherapy):*

Local application of following formulation on the affected side.

Dam ul-Akhwayn, Za farān, Samagh Arbi, Afyūn are mixed in Egg white, pasted
over a piece of paper and applied on the affected side of the head.

Application of following Tila (Liniment) on the affected side:
Ajwä'in Khurāsäni, Tukhm-i Kähü,
Post-i Bekh-i Luffäh,

Natül (Irrigation) on the temporal region when Shagiqa caused by
Khilt Har
Nilofar,Banafsha, Barg-i
Khatmi, Tukhm-i Kähu,
Gul Surkh.

Natül (lrrigation) on the temporal region when caused by Khilt Barid:
Bäbüna,Shih,Satar, Shibit

*Compound drugs:*

Qurs Musallas
To be applied on the affected temporal region.

Itrifal Muqawwi-i Dimāgh 5-10 gm.
Itrifal Ustūkhūdūs 5-10gm

Itrīifal Zamānī 5-10gm

Itrifal Kishnīzīs 10-20gm

Fasd (Bloodletting) in case of Damawi type.

Ishal (Purgation) in case of Safrāwi, Sawdawi and Balghami types.
