My message to all the Co educationalists:
I think more than teaching, guidance and counselling is required in educational institutions today. Children are smart enough to understand the concepts given in their textbooks today as they already are aware of so many topics with advancement in technology and media. The paragdim shift has already taken place thus the whole system needs to be reformed. Focus from teaching what and how should be on why and where. What is told or already researched needs to be tested and applied by students today. We in India need currently a big educational reform movement. Liberal education and freedom to choose what children want to study instead of giving them restricted choices in terms of subject options that too which are having ageold theoretical base without much change in the contents related to real life context today. Especially in the times today we are in imparting education through online home schooling, virtual classrooms we need to have discussions more on real things in relation to age old concepts. Let children today question why is it the way it is being taught or told. Let children explore and experiment new age concept. Let children develop their own ways of learning things and take their views into consideration even if you as a educationalist may not be aware of things they are talking about. Rather feeling inferior update your skills and get back to them with researched valid answers allow them to collectively work in finding answers their problems at the same time. I think time is to reform the biggest sector actively working towards construction of a better society for tomorrow i.e our education sector. Request you all to share your views and new age challenges in imparting education today.
