Most mouth ulcers heal within 1–2 weeks. But if an ulcer doesn’t heal for more than 2 weeks, it could be a warning sign that shouldn’t be ignored.
Persistent ulcers, red or white patches, pain, or difficulty swallowing may sometimes indicate oral cancer. Early detection can make a life-saving difference.
If you notice a mouth ulcer that isn’t healing, it’s important to get it checked by a specialist.
