Air Pollution in Delhi has become worse.
Air quality in Delhi hit severe levels on Saturday and a thick layer of smog engulf the city, marking the beginning of a pollution season that has become an annual catastrophe for India’s capital.
For Children Safety, Schools were shut and non-essential construction was banned around Delhi as the air quality index in the city hit 500 – the highest the measurement will go and 100th times the limit deemed to be healthy according to (WHO) World Health Organisation
🧑⚕️Doctors Nikhil Modi (Apollo hospital Delhi) said they had already begun to see the damaging impacts of pollution on the city’s population. “The number of patients with breathing problems has increased, with more people having symptoms of coughs, colds, watery and irritated eyes, and breathing problems. People of all ages are affected by this but mostly children and adults are affected . It is time for us to wear masks and go out only when needed,”
🚀 Air pollution Senior Lung Specialist, Dr Arvind Kumar (Medanta Hospital) Says,..
All age groups are adversely affect by Air pollution. You might wonder how an unborn child is affected by this air quality because that child is not breathing when she child's mother is breathing, Toxins go her 🫁 lungs and blood and through placenta reach to the child, and the Fetus , cause damage.... Child is born, they start breathing same polluted air. It's so danger ⚡
Why did this condition happen...
Air quality in the city had declined over the past week, attributed to a sharp rise in farmers in the neighbouring states of Haryana (attached to Delh) and Punjab burning their fields during the crop planting season, compounded by winds that carried the pollutants into Delhi and a drop in temperatures trapping the particles.
However, the pollution early warning systems in Delhi reportedly failed to predict the further rapid deterioration in conditions that took place late on Saturday.
Delhi, home to about 32-33 million people, is regularly ranked the most polluted city in the world. According to recentyear’s air quality life index (AQLI) compiled by the University of Chicago’s energy policy institute, the people of Delhi could have their lives shortened by 11.9 years due to the poor air they breathe.
((👉👉The Air Quality Life Index, or AQLI, converts air pollution concentrations into their impact on life expectancy.
From this, the public and policymakers alike can determine the benefits of air pollution policies in perhaps the most important measure that exists for 👉 longer lives))
