🌾✨ Unlocking Insights: Understanding Celiac Disease ✨🌾

🍁Did you know that Celiac disease (CD) is an autoimmune enteropathy triggered by the consumption of gluten-containing grains like wheat and barley?

🍁In India, CD affects approximately 1% of the population, which is four times higher than the prevalence of HIV. Shockingly, it's a leading cause of malnutrition, and if left untreated, it has been linked to infertility and intestinal lymphoma.

🍁The gold standard for managing CD is a strict Gluten-Free Diet (GFD), which serves as the cornerstone of Medical Nutrition Therapy. Despite being a prevalent condition, there's no cure in Allopathy, Ayurveda, Unani or Homeopathy.

🍁I recently had the privilege of sharing insights on CD management at Lakshmibai College, University of Delhi. This event, organized in collaboration with the Celiac Support Organization (CSO) and Nutrition Society of India (NSI) , Delhi Chapter, aimed to raise awareness and empower individuals to diagnose and navigate the challenges of living with CD.
