Ms Varsha (faculty)

Varsha, a highly qualified teacher (MBA, NET, CTET, JBT), rekindled her professional self after marriage through Adharshila. Teaching multiple grades, she found herself revisiting long-forgotten concepts and rediscovering the joy of deep learning.

Her most heartwarming moment was a community lunch where students brought homemade food, made sandwiches, and served the teachers in a gesture of love. She fondly remembers her first batch of 10th-grade students, who embraced her after their old teacher left. Their success and affection became her greatest reward, and she credits Adharshila for giving her the confidence to achieve it all.

Ms Vandana (faculty)

For Ms Vandana, who joined in 2016, her journey at Adharshila has been an inspiring trajectory of empowerment. Teaching had always been her passion, and after unsatisfying jobs in local private schools, she found both meaning and respect at Adharshila. Her most poignant memory is from the pandemic, when students had no devices but learning had to continue.

Working remotely, she felt deeply invested in the mission. She fondly remembers one student, struggling with bed-wetting at age 14, who had confided in her. Rather than scolding or dismissing him, she offered understanding, which changed his life. For Vandana, that trust signifies what Adharshila represents: safety, compassion, and growth for students and staff alike.

Hare Krishna Choudhary ( Faculty )

The educators at Adharshila do not merely teach—they transform, grow, and heal. Hare Krishna’s journey exemplifies this. Referred by a friend, he joined the NGO in late 2024 after admiring its inclusive educational and healthcare initiatives. Formerly a teacher at another NGO, he found Adharshila to be a platform of multifaceted learning.

Beyond teaching English, he handles computers, manages programs, and even leads social events. For him, “Fun Friday” sessions, where teachers and students engage in playful learning, epitomize the kind of holistic, stress-free education Adharshila promotes. His favorite memory? Celebrating a colleague’s birthday, where all departments danced together—a symbolic act of unity.

Taukir ( faculty )

Mr Taukir joined Adharshila in 2023 after leaving another English institute and immediately found himself immersed in multiple roles - teacher, social media manager, and visual documentation creator. With no prior training in tech, he taught himself Canva and social media operations, reflecting the self-driven culture Adharshila encourages.

His classrooms, though filled with older or same-age students, are marked by mutual respect and a touch of humor. Balancing discipline and empathy, he remains grounded by the support of colleagues like Jaiveer and Hare Krishna.

Jaiveer Singh ( Faculty )

Jaiveer, once a student at Adharshila himself, joined the team in 2022, inspired by the trustee’s speech. His transformation from an introverted document executive to a confident teacher and mentor has been profound. He remembers an emotional moment when his students publicly acknowledged that Adharshila had given them voice, support, and dignity.

He’s grown professionally - learning data handling and team collaboration - but more importantly, he’s built enduring bonds with colleagues like Taukir and Yogesh, and with students who still return to share their successes.

Ms Thao’s story is one of rediscovering herself. A facilitator and literature graduate, she sought a space that allowed her to study and teach meaningfully. Adharshila became that space. The freedom to design a curriculum focused on life skills and real-world application allowed her to break away from the rigidity of traditional education.

Her proudest moments are when students get certified and land jobs, even if just a few. Trust, independence, and collaborative work culture gave her the confidence to anchor functions and embrace leadership, something she never imagined she could do.

Yogesh ( Faculty )

Yogesh, once a student at Adharshila, returned in 2020 as a computer teacher, driven by gratitude and a desire to give back. After completing basic and advanced computer courses and briefly working at Vodafone, he felt called to guide others as he had been guided. He credits Ms Anita for recognizing his potential and recommending him for the role, calling her his role model. For Yogesh, Adharshila is where he found his voice, gaining confidence, communication skills, and the ability to mentor students meaningfully.

His bond with one student, now employed at PVR Cinemas, stands as a reminder of the impact. Inspired by the organization’s sincerity, especially the founder trustees’ dedication to the Renal Care Project, he sees Adharshila as a space where people and projects both flourish with heart and purpose.

Raviranjan Kumar Sharma ( Faculty )

Perhaps no story captures Adharshila’s spirit of return and resilience more than Raviranjan’s. He joined as a student in 2008, offering to help in classes just so he could stay close to learning. Over time, he taught himself how to teach. When he left due to financial struggles and lack of formal employment, he still came back whenever the organization needed him. He helped restart abandoned centers, conducted outreach in underserved communities.

After an accident left him injured, Adharshila covered his medical costs and gave him financial support, without him even being officially re-employed. That moment cemented his loyalty. Now a digital literacy trainer and stock manager, he continues to serve with deep pride. A highlight for him was helping a struggling student learn to use a computer, who later returned just to say, “Thank you.” It made everything worthwhile.
