Celebrating Independence with Awareness and Action 🇮🇳

This Independence Day, our learning centres in Holambi Kalan and Narela became vibrant spaces of joy, creativity, and community spirit. The celebrations were not just about honoring our nation’s freedom, but also about nurturing awareness and responsibility among children and youth.

🌟 Drawing activities gave children the platform to imagine and express their vision of an independent and progressive India.
🌟 Community awareness rallies carried an important message – say no to Chinese manjha – to safeguard lives, birds, and the environment.
🌟 Cultural performances highlighted the values of unity, resilience, and pride that bind us together as a nation.

The day reminded us that freedom is not only about our past struggles, but also about our present choices and future responsibilities. When children lead with their voices, and communities come together for positive change, we move closer to building the India we all dream of.

At Dr. A. V. Baliga Memorial Trust, we believe that true independence begins with education, empowerment, and collective action. Every step we take with children, youth, and communities is part of our larger mission to nurture leaders of tomorrow and strengthen the foundations of a just and inclusive society.

What an inspiring day it was for our Holambi Kalan family!
A group of 125 children, youth, and staff joined the Independence Day celebrations at Lalit Kala Akademi, Rabindra Bhawan, New Delhi.

From marching in the spirited Tiranga Rally to showcasing talent in drawing, cultural performances, and media interactions, everyone participated with immense enthusiasm. The smiles were brighter when each child received a stationery kit, but the real gift was the chance to learn about the value of freedom, the sacrifices of our freedom fighters, and the responsibilities we carry as citizens.

A heartfelt thanks to Lalit Kala Akademi for creating such a vibrant platform where our students could celebrate creativity, culture, and national pride together.

🌟 A Milestone Worth Celebrating! 🌟
We are proud to announce that we have enrolled 6,119 out-of-school girls against our target of 6,000, achieving this ahead of schedule—and maintaining an outstanding 95% retention rate.
This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and tireless efforts of our incredible team and . A heartfelt thank you to each one of you for making this possible.
We extend our special thanks to our partner, Educate Girls, for their unwavering support over the past three years. Together, we have successfully enrolled over 35,000 out-of-school girls in the 9 blocks of Katihar, consistently maintaining a 95% retention rate.
This is more than just a number—it’s a commitment to changing lives, empowering girls, and building stronger communities.

🚩 Empowering Second Chances through Education!
📍 Kadwa & Azamnagar, Katihar District | Project Pragati
📅 Training Dates: 05–07 August 2025
We’re proud to share the successful completion of the Prerak Mobilization Training 2025–26 under the transformative Project Pragati, supported by Educate Girls. This initiative is a bold step towards empowering adolescent girls and women (15–29 years) by enabling their second chance at education through Matriculation via Bihar Board of Open Schooling and Examination (BBOSE).
With a mission to identify and support 2,250 marginalized learners, including at least 750 successful matriculants, the project is being implemented in two priority blocks – Kadwa and Azamnagar in Katihar.
🔹 35 dynamic Preraks (community mobilizers) participated in a rigorous three-day training, building their capacity to reach out, counsel, and support learners on their journey to education and empowerment.
🔹 A key highlight was the introduction of the Pragati Performance Application (PPA) – our digital platform for real-time tracking and impact measurement.
🔹 The training was led by our experienced Master Trainers:
✅ Mr. Rajendra Kumar Tripathi
✅ Mr. Nilesh Sherpuri
✅ Mr. Vimal Kumar
✅ Mr. Krishna Das

All participants were awarded certificates upon successful completion, marking a confident beginning for ground-level action.
This training has laid the foundation for real, measurable change – helping young women reclaim their right to education, dignity, and opportunity.

🌸 Introducing Project Pragati – A Second Chance at Education, A Lifetime of Possibilities 🌸

We are delighted to announce the launch of our new initiative – Project Pragati – a mission-driven effort to reconnect adolescent girls and women (ages 15–29) from marginalized communities with formal education. ✨

Many young women are compelled to drop out of school due to circumstances beyond their control. Pragati is our humble yet determined step towards giving them a second chance to complete their Matriculation (10th grade) through the Bihar Board of Open Schooling & Examination (BBOSE).

📍 What makes Pragati special?
Our team is reaching learners in their own villages, creating safe, local, and supportive study camps. We are actively engaging with the community through:
✅ Community Meetings
✅ PRI (Panchayati Raj Institution) Meetings
✅ Stakeholder Collaborations

🎯 Objective:
To re-integrate adolescent girls and young women into the formal education system and help them earn their Matric certificate.

🌱 Mission:
To provide a second chance at education for those who missed it the first time—especially girls and women from underserved backgrounds.

🌈 Goal:
To empower individuals with education, strengthen their confidence, and expand their opportunities for a brighter, self-reliant future.

We are deeply grateful to our partner Educate Girls for believing in this mission and walking with us in this journey of social transformation through education. Together, we strive to unlock the potential of every learner—because education is not a privilege, it's a right.
