Everest Base Camp Trek | Day 7 Update

Fresh snow, clear skies and endless mountain views marked the journey from Deboche to Dingboche. The team crossed the Imja Khola bridge, paused at Tangboche Monastery and watched Somare turn into a white blanket as the snow fell.

A bowl of hot thukpa and dal bhat kept everyone warm before the final climb. By evening, the team reached Dingboche, surrounded by Ama Dablam and Makalu, ready to rest and prepare for the next push higher.

Every step, stretch, and move begins with something simple yet vital: healthy joints.

They support every part of our daily life, from the smallest gestures to our biggest goals.

This World Arthritis Day, let’s celebrate movement by learning how to protect what keeps us going.

Caring for our joints helps us stay active, strong, and ready for every new day.

Everest Base Camp Trek | Day 6 Update

Sunshine finally returned to Namche, lifting spirits and lighting up the mountains. The team began their trek to Deboche, making a special stop at the peaceful Tangboche Monastery.

For the first time, they caught a clear view of Mount Everest, along with Ama Dablam and Lhotse, capturing moments that will stay with them forever.

As the sun set over the peaks, the team reached Deboche, ending the day with tea, laughter and quiet reflection before preparing for the next stretch to Dingboche.

Everest Base Camp Trek | Day 5 Update

The day began with a quick team meeting to focus on safety and comfort. With most shoes still damp and rain continuing, the acclimatisation trek was put on hold.

The team explored Namche Bazaar instead, picking up waterproof leggings, ponchos, backpack covers and renting sleeping bags to prepare for the days ahead.

By evening, everyone was back by the furnace, drying gear and sharing stories, ready to take on the next stretch of the journey.

The team set off early after breakfast, stepping into light rain as the trail led through forests, Sherpa villages and bridges strung with prayer flags.

A stop at Jorsalle for hot ginger tea and dal bhat kept spirits high before the journey continued toward the iconic Hillary Bridge, with the Dudh Kosi and Bhote Kosi rivers along the way.

By evening, gear was drying and laughter filled the room as everyone prepared for the next day’s acclimatisation trek.

Life may be unpredictable, move fast or feel overwhelming, but your well-being deserves a pause.

Breathe deeply, rest well, and don’t hesitate to talk to someone you trust when it feels heavy.

This World Mental Health Day, let’s remind ourselves and our loved ones that care begins with simple steps.

Because when we take care of our minds, everything else follows.

Some journeys begin long before the trail. They start in quiet shifts, steady routines, and the choice to show up every day.

Meet Mr. Dheeraj, Ward Boy at ISIC. The focus he brings to caring for patients now guides his steps in the mountains. He sees his work and the Everest challenge as the same path of steady effort.

Patient. Focused. Proud.

Our Everest journey continues, and Dheeraj shares what this moment means to him and to the ISIC community.
Watch the video and cheer him on.

Kathmandu was still waking when the team set off at 5:30 a.m. for the airport. A weather hold shifted the Lukla flight to 11 a.m., and the 40-minute hop opened to snow-kissed ridges, misty valleys, and a pinpoint landing on the short runway.

After lunch, the trail to Phakding unfolded in light rain, with quiet villages, long suspension bridges, and prayer wheels along the way. Ginger lemon tea on arrival and dal bhat for dinner closed the day.

Spirits steady, gear in order, focus set on tomorrow’s climb to Namche.

In focus: Amarjeet Kaur, Team Leader, Nursing at ISIC.

Every day, she leads with quiet care. On the trail, she carries that same compassion into the high paths.

Our Everest journey continues, and Amarjeet shares what it means to her: courage, hope and determination.

Watch the video and cheer her on.

ISIC’s Everest journey has reached Kathmandu.

Day 2 was shaped by blessings and preparation for ISIC’s team.

At 5:30 a.m., the team visited the famous Pashupatinath Temple on Dussehra, offering prayers for a safe trek and the well-being of our families and the ISIC community.

The day then moved into readiness with connectivity set up, last-minute gear in place, and time spent in Kathmandu’s vibrant markets. As evening settled, the team paused at Durbar Square and shared a simple Indian dinner at The Third Eye.

Steady steps, shared purpose, and a clear mindset for the next chapter.

The Everest Base Camp Trek has begun for our ISIC team, carrying forward a legacy of courage and determination.

Inspired by our founder, Major HPS Ahluwalia, who was part of India’s first successful Everest expedition in 1965, this journey reflects the same spirit of resilience that defines ISIC.

Day 1 began with a warm send-off from our Chairperson and the ISIC family, followed by the team’s arrival in Kathmandu. Laughter, excitement, and shared purpose filled the air as they took their first steps toward the mountains.

Here’s to a journey that celebrates teamwork, endurance, and the will to reach new heights.
