Unnoticed: Children of JNU Construction Workers

Unnoticed: Children of JNU Construction Workers Unnoticed is a group of JNU students and ex-students which works for the welfare of the children of construction workers.

Initially emphasizing on basic teaching and organizing classes with student volunteers and later for that end getting the children admitted into nearby municipal schools, we realized that education is much more than textbooks and rote learning. Like any other child, these kids too were filled with immense potential which needed careful channeling and nurturing. With this intent, we began to diversify our activities. If amongst us, someone was good at crafts or painting or music or dance, we started teaching the kids the same. Theatre workshops, movie screenings and taking the children on recreational trips around the city became a part of our schedule. And the kids grew and we along with them. Another area of work has been our vaccination drive. Being migrant workers on the move and no access to basic health facilities, almost all the children were without immunization against life threatening diseases. And we found a partner in Dr. Priyadarshini with whose help we were able to do some significant work in this field. Recently we found another support in Dr. Rewa who volunteered her services for the dental check up of the children. This and much more…such has been our journey so far.

Proud On them. Apart from studies, our kids are talented at extra curricular activities too. ❤️🎊🎉

We are delighted to announce that we have reopened the Unnoticed, JNU after the COVID -19 pandemic. These years were difficult for everyone especially for children coming from the Underprivileged sections of the society. Many had to leave their education in a lack of guidance and closure of the schools. We won't fail to mention that online classes are a digital divide for these sections of society already. Many don't even have smartphones.
So, As the relaxation has been given in the guidelines now, We are starting the procedure of the volunteer recruitment again.
Interested Persons can apply through the Google form.

We feel overjoyed to announce that students from Unnoticed JNU, have done remarkably well on their Board Examination. These children come from an underprivileged section of society, their mother and father work hard day and night to provide with the basic needs of the family, and yet wanting their children to get educated and have bright careers is not that easy. Thus We really are thankful to all the parents. Without their support, it would only remain a dream and never have come true.
Also, Given the pandemic period and non-availability of offline classes, lack of resources for properly getting online classes, the students have surprised us with their outstanding results.

Listing down their Percentage :
10th Board
Sarveshee - 69 %
Parveshee - 67 %
Nisrat - 63 %
Abhishek - 67.9 %

12th Board

Ranjana - 80 %
Jyoti - 76%

We further would like to thank all our Volunteers for their Guidance and hard work even during the Pandemic, It wouldn't have been possible without them.
In the future, we hope that we would be able to come across more such people who want to bring a change in society.

It gives us immense proud and joy to announce that Ms Sangeeta(Cheeni), Student at Unnoticed JNU has secured an amazing 70% in her Class 10th board examinations. We would thus not fail to acknowledge the hardships she and her family have dealt with in order for her to pursue her education. Her mother works tirelessly in many households so that she could provide with the needs of her children. Ms Sangeeta is not only excellent in her academic endeavours but also is very well known in the unnoticed family for her extracurricular activities such as designing the choreography for her dance team at unnoticed and is a marvellous dancer herself. We would like to congratulate her family for her tremendous performance because without their help it's not possible for us to guide the students. Her performance has emerged as the motivation and she has emerged as the role model for other students at Unnoticed and those who belong to the underprivileged section of society. We hope more and more students get motivation from her achievement.

We would like to congratulate our cute little charming girl Cheeni for her excellent performance and wish her all the best for her future. We are always here to guide all of our students.

Lastly, Cheers to all the volunteers at Unnoticed who put their selfless work for bringing a change in the society. Every little step taken towards betterment of the society counts. It wouldn't have been possible without them. We wish we would be able to connect with more such compassionate people in the future.
