Dr. Navin Dang, Chairman & Founder of Dr. Dangs Lab, has been appointed as a Board Member of the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).
NABL is a constituent board of the Quality Council of India (an Autonomous body under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry). It is an internationally recognized body and provides voluntary accreditation services to the medical laboratories, testing and calibration laboratories, proficiency testing providers, reference material producers, and Biobanks.
Dr. Navin Dang is an eminent medical professional with an MBBS from the University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi (1979), and an MD in Medical Microbiology from PGIMER, Chandigarh (1983). With over four decades of dedicated service, he has pioneered diagnostic excellence in India. In 1985, he founded Dr. Dangs Lab, today recognized as one of the country’s most trusted and quality-oriented diagnostic laboratories.
His illustrious career includes serving as Senior Resident at AIIMS, spearheading clinical research and vaccine trials, and guiding national initiatives in laboratory medicine. He has been honored with several prestigious awards, including the Dr. B.C. Roy National Award (2009) by the President of India, the Vishisht Chikitsa Ratan Award (2014), the Global Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (GAPIO) Excellence Award (2021), and the Doctorate of Science (Honoris Causa) by Amity University (2023).
Dr. Dang’s leadership has been pivotal in implementing stringent quality practices such as triple-check reporting systems, a robust IQC (Internal Quality Control) program & participation in EQA programs of national & international repute, along with pediatric-specialized phlebotomy, earning Dr. Dangs Lab national and international recognition, including Dr. Dangs Lab being awarded the prestigious Prof. S.K. Joshi National Award – 2022 for Laboratory Excellence in Medical Laboratories – Gold Category by the Quality Council of India.
His appointment as a Board Member of NABL is a testament to his lifelong commitment to advancing diagnostic standards and ensuring patient-centric care. Through this role, Dr. Navin Dang will continue contributing to the strengthening of quality frameworks in India’s laboratory ecosystem.
