An interesting case...

A **na in a 67 year old lady .... a Right Inguinal Lymph Node was FNA positive and mild FDG uptake in Bilateral Pelvic Lymph Nodes.
All walls of the Va**na were involved right upto the Cervix .

I did a Radical Hysterectomy with a Radical VulvoVaginectomy IN CONTINUITY .... along with a Bilateral InguinoPelvic Lymphadenectomy .

I've done many Anterior , Posterior and Complete Pelvic Exenterations and of course, hundreds of Radical Hysterectomies .... but somehow hadn't done this type of procedure previously. ( Which is actually quite odd since I've operated almost 12,000 Oncosurgery cases till now ) ....

The Challenge was ensuring no injuries to the Re**um or the Bladder .... while removing all the organs in continuity and with safe margins.

Total Operative Time : 3 hours .
Blood Loss : 200ml .
R-0 Resection achieved.

HUGE Announcement by my .... !!!

I'm not a Delhi Boy .

I'm a Mountain Lad .... I was born and raised amongst the Springs & Brooks , Pastures & Meadows and Hillocks & Mountains of Kashmir .

My Knowledge & Art was acquired & polished in the Desert & Oasis of Jaipur in Rajasthan..... and the Hustle & Bustle, Sea & Skyscrapers of the Millennium City of Mumbai Maharashtra.

So .... , was for me , when I first arrived here in 2005 , just another big city & coincidentally the Capital of my beloved Nation, India 🇮🇳.

In Delhi, Batra Hospital & Medical Research Centre gave me my First Real JOB and also my First Independent Home. ( I lived in a 3 Bedroom Apartment in the Hospital Campus for 8 years !!! )

Initially as a Senior Consultant in Surgical Oncology and later as Director of Surgical Oncology.... the Hospital not only invested it's Trust in my Abilities but also provided me a Platform to showcase my Art & Skills.

I'm a person who's extremely possessive about my Family Time and very reticent socially..... I avoid Conferences , Parties & Professional Gettogethers .... inspite of that i surprise myself that whenever I'm introduced to someone new , they've invariably heard about me !!! And it would be extremely ungrateful & selfish of me if I would appropriate all the credit for myself and leave out the contribution of my Institution in these achievements .

So..... gives me a great sense of pride to announce that my Workplace is now further expanding 250 Beds from the current 500 Beds to 750 Beds ... AND .... We shall have a brand new MEDICAL COLLEGE as well !!!

Along with the expected completion of the Metro Station on the under construction New Metro Line just outside our main gate , this is expected to give a HUGE boost & fillip to not only Medical Care but also Medical Education in this part of the country.

● We are . And professionals who deal with real lives. Plus we get paid reasonably well for our services.
Hence, I consider it a duty .... an obligation.... to perform my job to the best of my abilities.

I personally never attach any higher to either my job or my existence.... we just befool ourselves and get caught in the .
The God Syndrome raises unfair in our clients.... and is responsible for nearly all the illwill we occasionally see against doctors.

Also... I feel I work best when by unrealistic expectations.

● My are .... as for every human being..... primarily towards myself and my family.

Beyond that its .

● For my .... I can just offer an honest, sincere and full hearted effort.
