Paying Tribute to Our Timeless Gurus This Guru Purnima.
Paramhamsa Madhavadas Ji
Founder’s Guru: 1798–1921
Born in 1798, he was a master of Hatha Yoga and a Bhakti Yogi who renounced the material world at just 23. His life was a message of spiritual discipline, renunciation, and revival — rekindling ancient Yogic traditions when they were fading from memory.
Shri Yogendra Ji
Founder: 1897–1989
Known as the founder of Modern Yoga RenaissanceThe Yoga Institute in 1918 — the world’s oldest organized yoga center. He took yoga beyond ashrams into the global public sphere, opening the first yoga center in New York in 1920 and championing a scientific and family-centric approach to the yogic way of life.
Smt. Sitadevi Ji
Mother: 1912–2008
A true pioneer who broke stereotypes by making yoga accessible to women. She walked shoulder-to-shoulder with Shri Yogendra Ji, authored landmark books, and became a symbol of strength, compassion, and feminine grace in the yogic world.
Dr. Jayadeva Yogendra
President: 1929–2018
With calm authority and spiritual depth, Dr. Sahab carried forward the legacy with scholarly brilliance and yogic humility. His teachings, rooted in Samkhya and the Yoga Sutras, offered the modern world practical tools to live with simplicity, balance, and inner awareness.
Dr. Hansaji Yogendra
Director
A global spiritual leader, and the living embodiment of yogic wisdom. With over 50,000 sessions, 100+ books, and a presence that radiates peace, Hansa Maa continues to transform lives—guiding millions to physical health, emotional resilience, and inner joy.
