Case Study - Eldercare service at home - December 11' 2023

Patient's daughter: Naeha Subramanian (Biology professor in USA)
Location: Vikaspuri, Delhi

Ms. Naeha & her brother Mr. Amit subramanian contact us for their father care support in 24 hour shifts. We provided a compassionate caregiver for their father's care support. The attendant was very serious with his duties & our staff manager was very proactive in coordinating the service. The assisted living service for Ms. Naeha and Mr. Amit's father went very well for a couple of months.

In the month of December 2023 i.e. this year the attendant all of sudden stopped responding the nursing agency calls, Mr. Amit informed us that the attendant has left from the duty but there is no whereabouts of the male attendant. Later per the investigation done by our staff manager, we come to know that the attendant is still on duty, and Amit & her sister Naeha influenced the care giver to not respond to the agency and work directly there on his normal salary. We are trying to connect Mr. Amit (patient's son) he is not responding to calls and asking to send the final invoice for the number of days he mentioned. We told Mr. Amit that we have an update that our care giver is on duty, but he is not listening as continuously repeating the same thing that sends the invoice. This is very embarrassing to experience that such financially well of families commit such fraud.

This is the Case study of Eldercare Service support at home in Delhi, India!

Person named Mrs. Santosh Yadav from Rohini Delhi, approached us for their mother care support assistant at home. We provided a suitable general duty attendant for the care support of her mother at home in a 12 hour shift in a day.

The Elderly lady is suffering from old age health issues and requires continued assistance via a general duty attendant who can take care of her general day-to-day needs like assistance in toiletries /bathing, diet management, oral medication management etc.

We have provided the care support to Mrs. Santosh Yadav mother and the service was going on smoothly and our support team is in continuous touch with them to keep the service smooth and steady. The service went really well for the starting 4 - 5 months, and later on the attendant started creating ruckus with the agency and later on we came to find out that the guardian of the elderly person i.e. Mrs. Santosh Yadav was trying to make collaboration with the female attendant via our nursing agency directly.

Despite our seriousness towards our professional service, the client Ms. Santosh Yadav ji (resident of Sector 6 Rohini Delhi) was trying to collaborate with the female attendant to make her work directly and break any possible contract with our nursing agency. When we came to know about this situation and we tried to contact her she refused to speak to us and did not respond to our communication medium.

Situations like this are not ethical for both the nursing agency and the person hired the home healthcare support since this can lead to discrepancies in the near future and obviously when any mishap occurs the agency will be held responsible even though the agency has no role to play in this.

We as a responsible nursing agency urges all or anyone who needs medical care support for their loved ones at home to avoid doing such unethical activities as this can result in harmful consequences.
