The center was inaugurated on 5th January 2010 for children in North West Delhi since there were no early intervention centers working and providing services for babies under one roof. The working of the center is based on the principles of parent collaboration, participation, and training. Parents sit in all the sessions and observe the method and techniques being applied so that they can tran
sfer them at home. Once a baby comes to the center details regarding needs and concerns of the parents, the child's daily routine and assessments are done in all areas of development. The child is then registered with a team and intensive therapy begins for holistic development. Appointments are given for the child after discussion with parents. The center at present has speech therapist(s), psychologist(s), occupational therapist(s) and special educator(s). The USP of the center are play based assessments, trans disciplinary approach, child conference, home and school visits to ensure transferring of skills. Individual learning sessions of a child are augmented with group sessions. Group sessions help prepare our children to socialize and communicate with other children, to actively participate in self help skills and meet the challenges of every day life. We try to prepare them for pre-literacy skills and give them a play school like environment. Seeing our work and dedication National Institute of Child Development and Public Cooperation has selected our center for sending their trainees for internship since 2012. Members of the team have been to Nagaland , Bhopal, Rachi, Ludhiana Lucknow beside Delhi to conduct training in early intervention. We have noisy, fun Christmas and New Year Party with games and prizes for grand parents, parents,sibling and our children. As one of our child's mother said the center is not just for the child it is therapeutic for parents too.
