Genesis
The idea of formation of National Educational Empowerment and Development Foundation (NEEDEF) was conceived in April, 2018 by a luminary group of scientists, academicians, research administrators, policy makers, agri-business professionals, management professionals, medical professionals, IT professionals, progressive farmers and agri-entrepreneurs, socialists and representation of women and youth to translate a larger vision of societal upliftment in the country through holistic and sustainable development by fostering the principles of inclusivity, addressing all ranks and strata of society. Every aspect of growth including education, health and environmental sanitation, women and child welfare, skill and enterprise development, agricultural and rural development etc. had to be re-looked and worked upon simultaneously to roll out an equitable and sustainable cycles of growth, productivity and empowerment. Moreover, sustainable growth could only be achieved when even excluded groups of people contribute and over a period of time become a part of economic development to witness the desired results. With this philosophy, NEEDEF finally came into existence and was formally registered on 20th June, 2018, under the Societies Registration Act 21 of 1860 for pan India commitments. Overview
NEEDEF envisages empowering the resource-poor, rural non-farm and farming families including the most vulnerable and needy members of diverse communities to become agents of their own socio-economic development across the country. It is dedicated for redefining development by embracing the principles of inclusivity and sustainability for economic and social upliftment of vulnerable sections of the society. NEEDEF has its grass-root level campaigns for education, sustainable agricultural and rural development, livelihood security and skill development, women and child welfare, health and hygiene, food and nutrition security and conservation and protection of environment. NEEDEF has already addressed several development-aimed initiatives in Eastern Uttar Pradesh in its initial phase of establishment, which is now slowly and steadily expanding its network across India, and drawing support from individuals, groups and institutions both at national and international levels to attain its goal of inclusive and sustainable development. We work for farmers, non-farm rural communities, youth, women, vulnerable and marginalized sections of the society by providing sustainable livelihood opportunities to improve their living standards through adoption of strategic, multi-dimensional and holistic programmes. Aims and Objectives
• To promote growth and sustainable agriculture & allied sectors development, aligning education and extension services translating into adoptable solutions

• To improve skills for capacity building and employability of the farming families, rural youth and women

• To create awareness about health, hygiene and family planning in the communities with special focus on women and child welfare through workable projects

• To create awareness for environmental balance emphasizing conservation of natural resources and biodiversity

• To promote synergies and establish linkages with government, non-government and CSR agencies for developing and implementing targeted developmental schemes and programmes
