Do's and Don'ts for epilepsy
Do's:
1. Regular sleep: a regular sleep cycle is a must for good epilepsy control. Erratic sleep cycle tends to have an adverse effect on epilepsy control. Hence try to maintain a disciplined sleep cycle.
2. Regular food: try to maintain a proper diet schedule. Missing meals can be a precipitating factor for seizures, especially in certain epilepsy syndromes.
3. Take medicines regularly. If medicine is prescribed thrice a day, the expected interval for doses is 8 hours. Hence, time the doses accordingly.

Don'ts
1. Do not miss your meals.
2. Do not change the timings of your drugs erratically.
3. Avoid smoking and alcohol
4. Certain drugs are contraindicated in epilepsy ( like fluoroquinolones). Hence, consult your neurologist before taking any new drug.
