SPSS REPORT: SU***DE PREVENTION AND SUPPORT SERVICES
Understanding India's Su***de Crisis: A Call for Systemic Change
The "SPSS: Su***de Prevention and Support Services" report reveals that the dominance of family, financial, and health reasons for su***de mortality points to a systemic failure of our social, economic, and public infrastructures. For males, financial and economic stress are significant drivers, while for females, patriarchal family structures, domestic violence, and lack of autonomy are critical factors, often masked as "family issues".
The report underscores the urgent need for systemic measures for su***de prevention, enacted from the ground up, with a psychosocial approach. Addressing economic and livelihood insecurities, strengthening protection against domestic violence, and improving access to mental health services are crucial steps.
