DDLJ showed us love that never gives up ♥️ but real life isn’t a film.
Sometimes LOVE turns into control, abuse, and in the worst cases, Intimate Partner Homicide (IPH) 🔪 IPH is not a sudden act. It’s the tragic end of a pattern 💔
The stats are chilling. The message is clear: Awareness can save lives.”

“Taking care of your loved ones’ Mental Health is crucial because it’s often easy to overlook the silent struggles they might be facing. Mental health challenges can be invisible, and without the proper support, they can grow into something overwhelming.

By actively checking in, listening, and offering help, you can make a difference before things reach a breaking point. It’s not just about being there during a crisis, but consistently showing care and concern, so never feel alone in their battles. Remember, sometimes a small gesture or a kind word can make all the difference in keeping someone close and healthy.

International Day of Happiness

How can a person be happy after facing a setback?

The Happiness pie chart proposed by Lyubomirsky, Sheldon, and Schkade (2005) identified three factors contributing to Happiness.

1) Circumstances (10%)
2) Set Point (50%)
3) Intentional Activities (40%)

1) Circumstances (10%) mean broader external conditions surrounding life.
2) Set Point (50%) means genetic factors play a role.
3) Intentional Activities (40%) mean conscious efforts to improve mood.

Did People know that pursuing Happiness can be challenging, according to recent research?

A person can pursue Happiness, but it is not easy. According to the study, true Happiness requires a deliberate effort to engage in self-appropriate and eudaimonic-type activities. Simply chasing positive emotions will not cut it. To maximize personal happiness potential, a person needs to dedicate sustained effort to focus on activities suitable for them, provide a sense of purpose, and practice them in various ways to ensure a constant flow of positive experiences and to prevent monotony and boredom. By doing so, a person will be well on the way to creating fulfilling, satisfying, engaging, and uplifting experiences.

The three contemporary models – the Eudaimonic Activity Model, the Hedonic Adaptation Prevention Model, and the Positive Activity Model- support the idea that how people live makes a difference in their Happiness. The Eudaimonic Activity Model says Happiness comes from within, and The Hedonic Adaptation Prevention Model says Happiness can be driven externally (Sheldon & Lyubomirsky, 2019)

After any setback in life, we can not change our Past. We always remember our experiences, except we do not have memory-related issues. We can not forgive, so what do we do if we face any setback in life, and how can we be happy?

People can crib and complain for some time, but ultimately, they are the driver of their life. Start putting energy into creating a big present, and the moment they do so, the Past will automatically fade away, and they will learn to let it go.

So, people must take charge of their lives, live the lives of their dreams, and be happy.

AWARENESS.....

One Sufi mystic, Bayazid, used to talk to his disciples about awareness, and they would ask, ”But what is this awareness that You keep talking about.”

One day, he took them to the river. On this side was a small hill, and on the other side was a small one. He said, ”We are going to put up a long wooden bridge – just one foot wide – from this end to the other, and you will have to walk on it. And then you will know what awareness is.”

They said, ”But we have been walking our whole life, and we have never come to know.” He said, ”Wait,” and he experimented. Many of them started feeling very afraid, and they said, ”We cannot walk. Just one foot wide?” ”But how much do you need to walk on? You can walk on the earth on a one-foot wide strip easily. Why can’t you walk on a one-foot-wide strip hanging between two hills? Why can’t you walk on it?”

A few people tried. Just two, three feet they went, and they came back, and they said, ”It is dangerous.” Then Bayazid walked, and a few followed, and when they reached the other shore, those few who had followed fell at his feet and said, ”Master, now we know what awareness is. The danger was so much that we could not afford to walk in slumber. We had to be alert. Any moment, and we would have been gone forever, so we had to keep alert.”

You become aware in some rare, dangerous moments; otherwise, you do not. Awareness means an intensity, such an intensity of wakefulness that no thought interferes. You are simply conscious without any thought. Try it. You can try it anywhere. Walking on the road, walk as if each moment there is danger.

And there is danger! Because any moment you can die, any moment death is there. If you become a little more understanding, you will understand. It is impossible not to be aware if you see that death is possible at any moment. Then you cannot live like drunkards.

Once upon a time, an intelligent man owned a well in an old Japanese village, but he didn't use it, so he decided to sell it to a nearby farmer. One day, the farmer pumping water from the well for cooking, the intelligent man immediately stopped and did not allow him to pump water from the well.

"I only sold you the well; I didn't sell you the water. Therefore, you cannot take water from this well," the intelligent man said.

The farmer was unfortunate and didn't know what to do. He had bought the well but had yet to pay for the water from the well. Now the well was full of water, but he couldn't use it.

After thinking about resolving the issue with the intelligent man for a long time, the farmer brought it up to the district court, hoping to get justice. At the court, the farmer recounted the story from beginning to end, hiding nothing to get justice for his family.

The district judge called the intelligent man and asked, "Why don't you let him use the water in the well? Didn't you sell the well?"

"Well, your honour, I only sold the well to this farmer; I didn't sell him the water. Therefore, he has no right to take water from my property. Now, if he wants to take water, he has to pay more to buy the water," the intelligent man replied, firmly believing in his argument.

The district judge looked at the intelligent man, smiled slightly, and replied, "Oh, you make a good point. However, when you sold the well to this farmer, the well became his property, and the water in the well is still yours. So, you have no right to store water in the farmer's well anymore."

"Now, only two options exist: You must pay the farmer to rent the well for water storage. Two is that you must remove all the water from the well immediately," the judge looked up at the intelligent man and asserted firmly.

The intelligent man bowed sadly, not knowing how to justify his actions. His intelligence had harmed him.

That's why no matter how smart you are, there will always be others who are more intelligent than you.
