Celebrating Freedom, Honouring Vision 🇮🇳

On the occasion of Independence Day, SCEH family came together to celebrate the spirit of freedom - the freedom to dream, to aspire, and to see a brighter future.

From flag hoisting to heartfelt speeches and moments of unity, the day was a reminder of our shared mission: to bring equitable, affordable, and accessible eye care to every corner of India.

Here’s to a future where every eye can witness the beauty of our nation.

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘰𝘮 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘵 𝘚𝘊𝘌𝘏?

It's watching a 6-year-old's face light up when she realises the world isn't actually blurry.

It's the grandmother from Shahjahanpur who can thread a needle again after 12 years.

It's the rickshaw puller in Daryaganj who doesn't have to squint at street signs anymore.

Real freedom isn't only political - sometimes it's as simple as being able to see your grandchild's smile clearly.

At SCEH doctors have been quietly restoring this freedom for a century now. One patient at a time. One treatment at a time.

At our Tertiary Centre, 1 in every 5 patients is diagnosed with Amblyopia – commonly known as Lazy Eye.

👁 What exactly is Amblyopia?
It’s a vision development disorder where one eye doesn’t achieve normal sight during early childhood. Left undetected, it can lead to long-term vision issues.

Why it matters:
Lazy Eye often shows no obvious symptoms, making early detection through regular eye check-ups in children absolutely vital.

We’re committed to spreading awareness and encouraging timely intervention. Swipe to understand more about Amblyopia and how you can help protect your child’s vision.

At Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital (SCEH), we believe that no child should lose their sight to a preventable condition, especially not our most vulnerable: preterm infants.

Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) is a serious eye condition that can lead to irreversible blindness in premature and low birth weight infants or babies who have long stay in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs). Early screening and timely treatment are absolutely critical.

To bridge this gap, 𝘸𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘥 𝘢 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩-𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘥, 𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮 𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘨𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴. Our initiative combines centralized tele-screening and prompt on-ground NICU integration, bringing expert care to where it’s needed most.

𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘍𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘵:
-27 NICUs across Delhi & Mathura
-7,000+ premature infants screened
-1,000+ babies treated for sight-threatening ROP
-Enabled by a centralized digital platform and seamless referral tracking

And we’re proud to share that this very project, “𝘚𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘱 𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘙𝘖𝘗 𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤-𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱,” has been awarded 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲 at the 𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐂𝐈 𝐔𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 & 𝐔𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 2025.🏆

This milestone celebrates not just our team’s hard work but the strength of public-private collaboration in delivering sustainable, tech-driven neonatal care solutions.

Kudos to 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐡, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐥, and the entire SCEH ROP team for making a real difference.

Our gratitude to 𝐂𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 for their unwavering support in this initiative.

We are grateful to 𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐂𝐈 and our partners for recognising this effort.
