We deliver high-quality, ethical, and inclusive care, with many surgeries free or subsidised. Established in 1922 by Dr. Sorabji P. Shroff, 𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐇 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐥. As of today, 𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐇 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐩 10 𝐞𝐲𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲. In the last decade, SCEH treated 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 4.4 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 and performed 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 300,000 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬. As a not-for-profit, its board mandates that at least 50% of its surgery is non-paying or highly subsidized. Based in Delhi, 𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐇 𝐡𝐚𝐬 7 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 50 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 across Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Across all levels of care, it employs more than 1,000 professionals. It’s one of the 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐍𝐀𝐁𝐇-𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐡𝐢, adheres to all quality standards and protocols, and offers standard eye care and ENT services. With the mission of “𝐄𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬”, the cornerstones of the Institute are 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲, 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡, 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐲𝐞-𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞, and 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 through various long and short term programs for medical, paramedical and non-medical cadres. बहुत कम लोग जानते हैं कि दुर्लभ नेत्र रोग कितने गंभीर होते हैं।
लेकिन भारत में हज़ारों मरीज़ और उनके परिवार इन बीमारियों से रोज़ जूझते हैं, कई बार पूरी ज़िंदगी।

इसी अंतर को कम करने के लिए हमारे CURED (Conference on Uncommon and Rare Eye Diseases) विभाग ने CONCURED का आयोजन किया।

ताकि दुर्लभ नेत्र रोग को जल्दी पहचाना जा सके, बेहतर तरीके से संभाला जा सके, और भारत इस क्षेत्र में वैश्विक स्तर पर मजबूत योगदान दे सके।

इस बार CONCURED 2 में:
Applied Bioinformatics for Clinicians पर एक वर्कशॉप आयोजित किया गया, जहाँ प्रतिभागियों को genetic reports समझने और उपयोग करने की hands-on training दी गई।

मुख्य सम्मेलन में देशभर के विशेषज्ञ शामिल हुए - keynote lectures, complex case discussions और research presentations के साथ।

जब किसी छोटे शहर में नया eye centre खुलता है, तो पूरा एक ecosystem बनता है।

Optometrists, vision technicians, counsellors, community health educators, एक पूरी team, जो doctors के साथ मिलकर काम करती है।

Patient की registration हो, counselling हो, या surgery के बाद की देखभाल, ये हर जगह होते हैं।

हमारे AOP programme ने महिलाओं को train किया है और ये सब मुमकिन हुआ है हमारे supporters और donors की वजह से। India को avoidable blindness से मुक्त करना है और ये trained AOPs उस राह की सबसे ज़रूरी कड़ी हैं।

SCEH का Annual Day किसी त्योहार से कम नहीं - यह हमारे लोगों का, हमारी परंपराओं का, और हमारी संस्कृति का जश्न है। यह उस सेवा को नमस्कार है जो हमारी टीम हर रोज़ बिना रुके देती है।

हम उन पलों को याद करते हैं जब हमारी टीम एक-दूसरे के लिए खड़ी रही और हर उस मरीज़ के लिए भी, जो हमारे दरवाज़े तक आया।

हम उन लोगों को सलाम करते हैं जो इस मिशन को हकीकत बनाते हैं। हर डॉक्टर, नर्स, टेक्नीशियन, और सपोर्ट स्टाफ का हर वो सदस्य जो SCEH की values को गर्व के साथ आगे ले जाता है।

SCEH परिवार के हर सदस्य को बधाई, और दिल से शुक्रिया। आपकी लगन ही SCEH की धड़कन है।

विश्व ग्लूकोमा जागरूकता सप्ताह के दौरान, SCEH नेटवर्क के सभी केंद्रों में हमारी टीम एकजुट होकर ग्लूकोमा (काला मोतिया) के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाने के लिए निकली।

किसी जगह टीम बैनर पकड़कर ज़ोर से संदेश दे रहा था, किसी जगह रोल-प्ले कर रही थी-
“मरीज आए तो कैसे समझाएँ? कैसे बताएं कि देर होने से नज़र वापस नहीं आती?”

डॉ. श्रॉफ़ चैरिटी आई हॉस्पिटल के पूरे नेटवर्क में एक ही बात गूँज रही थी - “ग्लूकोमा को समय रहते पहचानो।”

आइए, हम सब मिलकर ग्लूकोमा के खिलाफ लड़ें।

We are bringing together clinicians, geneticists, and researchers to decode the rapidly evolving world of rare eye diseases and ocular genetics.

Day 1: Workshop This initiative empowers eye-care professionals to interpret genetic reports with confidence, turning uncertainty into actionable clinical decisions.

From grasping ACMG (American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics) guidelines and understanding VUS (Variant of Uncertain Significance) to using AI tools in real cases, the workshop builds essential skills for modern ophthalmology.

Day 2 then continues with a full-day conference featuring keynote lectures, invited talks, case presentations, and the latest research updates in rare eye diseases.

Built on strong academic and industry partnerships, including the consistent support of 𝐍𝐢𝐤𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝, the AOP Program continues to open doors for young women, helping them gain hands-on skills, career opportunities, and the power to transform patient care.
