Management Institute of Population and Development
(A unit of Parivar Seva Sanstha)In 2007, Parivar Seva expanded its area of work to include overall population and development issues. It established a unit called Management Institute of Population and Development (MIPD) in Jaipur, which has now moved to Delhi.
Mission: To enhance management capacity to meet continuous challenges in population and development.
Objective: To build and enhance research and management capacity in specialised areas, to increase availability and utilisation of professionals, to efficiently and effectively manage health, population and development programmes.
Thrust Areas: Population, reproductive and sexual health; Child health; Urbanisation and migration; HIV/AIDS; Health care and nutrition; Health economics and financing; Poverty; Women empowerment; Women rights; Ageing; Labour force and its productivity; Substance abuse and environment.
Facilitates: Research, training, advocacy and networking in the chosen thrust areas. MIPD also offers consultancy in its chosen thrust areas and offers optimised and value added solutions in a time bound manner. MIPD works with the government and private institutions. The institute specialises in taking up policy and programmatic research (including, base line and end line surveys, fact finding research and monitoring), provide policy directions and develop successful models and frameworks of service delivery systems in the chosen thrust areas. Some of the completed projects of MIPD have come up with new interpretations of ground reality.
