A wonderful toy donation was made to the Child Life Department at Floating Hospital for Children today. The generous assortment of toys and handmade blankets was delivered by Mackenzie Hayes and Caroline Bickford, both seniors at Hanover High School. The girls teamed up to collect fun items from members of the community to give to the pediatric patients at Floating Hospital. Their wonderful efforts are part of their senior humanities project. Thanks Mackenzie and Caroline!

THE ITEMS THAT THE CHILDREN HAD WISHED FOR INCLUDE:

ARTS AND CRAFTS: glue, glitter, washable crayola markers, colored pencils, construction paper, art kits, gimp, beads, paints (acrylic), watercolor paints, colored duct tape, and wooden model kits.

INFANTS AND TODDLERS: pop-ups, rattles, sensory toys, sassy infant toys, and little people.

DISTRACTION TOYS: bubbles/mini no spill tumblers, pinwheels, i-spy books, Magna doodle boards, and play-doh.

DVDS: new releases for older children and young adults.

VIDEO CARTRIDGE GAMES: x-box 360, x-box 360 live prepaid cards, nintendo wii, and sony playstation 2. *games should be non-violent and appropriate for all ages*

GAMES: sorry, clue, trouble, payday, sequence, apples to apples jr, pictionary jr, Taboo, Backgammon, Mancala, Battleship, Yahtzee, Color Jenga, Guess who, Connect four, scattergories, Rummikub, boggle, scrabble, UNO attack, life, blockus, playing cards, Skipbo, UNO, phase 10, and monopoly deals.

ELECTRONICS: personal DVD players, Mp3 players, ipod shuffles, and small boomboxes.

TREASURE CHEST: small prizes (stickers + matchbox cars), crafts and coloring books

TEEN TREASURE CHEST: movie passes, five dollar gift cards (Gap, Old Navy, AC moore, toys R US, and i tunes).

MISCELLANEOUS: character twin size sheets, batteries, disposable cameras, microwave popcorn, birthday wrapping paper, lamenting sheets, journals.

FOR OUR HUMANITIES PROJECT, WE ARE ORGANIZING A TOY DRIVE TO COLLECT OBJECTS TO GIVE TO THE CANCER PATIENTS AT THE FLOATING HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN AT TUFTS MEDICAL CENTER IN BOSTON. WE ARE PLANNING TO PUT BOXES AT HANOVER HIGH SCHOOL OFFICE, MIDDLE SCHOOL OFFICE, CEDAR SCHOOL OFFICE, AND THE JOHN CURTIS LIBRARY. ANY DONATIONS ARE APPRECIATED AND WE WILL UPLOAD A LIST OF THE ITEMS THAT THE CHILDREN WISHED FOR.
