Venu Eye Institute is engaged in providing preventive, curative and rehabilitative eye care. Late Dr. R.K. It organizes 250 eye screening camps.

Four decades ago a philanthropist and a great visionary laid the seed of what is today known as Venu Eye Institute & Research Centre. Seth, an eminent ophthalmologist, and Founder of the Venu Charitable Society realized the limitation of private practice. His desire to spread its reach to the needy, overarching social and economic hurdles, created Venu. Venu pioneered a unique 3-tier service deliv

ery network, in response to the felt need of the patient, to ensure quality eye care services reach the poor and needy in the rural areas. It has a tertiary Base Referral & Teaching Hospital in Delhi, 5 rural secondary level Satellite Hospitals and 9 primary level Vision Centres in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. Since its inception, Venu has treated 7.9 million patients and operated 0.48 million.
50% of patients are treated free. Income generated from the 50% paying patients subsidize the 50% free patients. Venu is a university recognized teaching & training centre for postgraduate and undergraduate teaching programmes for Doctors and Optometrists. It is on the panel of over 150 Government and Public Sector Undertakings for eye health of their employees
It is an ISO 9001:2015 certified eye hospital.

The Indian Blind Sports Association (IBSA), in collaboration with Venu Eye Institute & Research Centre, successfully organized a Sight Classification Camp on 12th July 2025.

The camp welcomed over 40 participants from across India, aiming to assess and classify visual abilities to ensure fair and inclusive participation in blind sports.

This initiative marks another step forward in promoting equal opportunities and empowering athletes with visual impairments.
