The wait is finally over!
On January 12, at the cultural event "Tarang," we will finally release our annual magazine, SYNAPSE, after nearly a decade.

On 03-07-2023, the Society of Young Scientists (SYS), AIIMS, New Delhi held a peaceful march from the Director's Lawn through Gate No. 1 and back, to express our collective discontentment regarding the proposed project recruitment guidelines at AIIMS, New Delhi. The proposed changes are expected to negatively affect the livelihood of thousands of project staff employed in myriad posts at AIIMS, New Delhi.

We thank all the participants for uniting together and helping us to successfully execute this endeavour. We are also thankful to the AIIMS security and the administration for the role they played in our march today.

We hope our show of solidarity brings fruition to our just demands:
1. Apply revised recruitment guidelines prospectively to ensure that no person currently working at AIIMS, New Delhi is affected negatively.

2. Revoke memorandum F. 3-40/misc/2023 dated 22.06.2023 and allow joining till final recruitment guidelines are implemented.

SYS EC (2022-23) met Dr. Akhilesh Gupta, Senior Scientific Advisor, DST and OSD to the DST secretary last week, to discuss regarding the much needed fellowship hike. A hopeful update is awaited soon.

Greetings from SYS!

We are thrilled to announce that, for the very first time in AIIMS, SYS is organizing 'Open Gallery' on May 19th, 2023! The event will provide you a platform to showcase your photography as well as your artistic skills.
There are two sections:
1. Photography
2. Painting (Sketch, any form of painting, Digital art, Doodling, Mandala art etc).

Life is indeed a canvas of colours! It's time to paint it with your pallette or capture it with your lens and show it to the world, in your own unique ways!

You can also submit any of your old paintings or any of the photos you've taken before.
You are requested to send the entries for photography in document format on the given mail ID and submit your entries for painting at the SYS office by 17th May, 2023. Do mention your name on the bottom right corner of the photo or the painting you're submitting.

Note: Certificates will be provided to every participant. Top 3 entries in the Painting and Photography section will be printed on SYNAPSE, the annual magazine of SYS!

Dear all,

We are thrilled to announce that after several years, we shall be inviting entries for the Annual Magazine of SYS "Synapse" ( where Science meets Creativity) this time. Connecting research and talent, the magazine "Synapse" will be an amalgamation of science and creativity of young minds.

For the magazine, separate entries are invited for the following categories:
1. Scientific poetry
2. Scientific writing
3. Creative writing
4. Conference paper selected (National/International)
5. Scientific award/recognition received (National/International)

Last date of submission of the above mentioned categories will be *May 18, 2023*

Greetings from SYS!

We are elated to announce that SYS is organizing SCI-Q 2.0 to celebrate the Earth Day on 28th April, 2023 from 2 PM- 5PM. This time, SCI-Q 2.0 will comprise Scientific Quiz and an extremely innovative event called 'BEST out of WASTE'. The latter will challenge you to create something attractive from the old materials that is of no use otherwise, providing a creative approach to reduce the carbon footprint.
You have to prepare your creations for 'BEST out of WASTE' by yourself using waste materials available at home like old newspapers, glass jars, plastic bottles, cardboard boxes etc.
Last date for submission is 27th April, 2023 .
