“Yoga : India’s gift to the World”
Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. Deriving from Sanskrit, the word Yoga means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness.
The resolution on International Day of Yoga adopted by the United Nations Global Assembly under the agenda of Global Health and Foreign Policy recognised that Yoga provides a holistic approach to health and well being and that wider dissemination of information about its benefits would be beneficial for the health of the world population.
