FIBROSITIS SYNDROME - The fibrositis syndrome represents a clinically definable entity, which is characterised by spontaneous pain, especially in the lumbar and cervical region, and more rarely in other movable parts, multiple tendomyosis, tendinitis and insertion tendinitis, as well as a wide variety of functional syndromes, vegetative symptoms and psychological disturbances. The course of the illness is rather variable; its commencement can be slow to develop or acute, initially presenting a localised clinical picture similar to a lumbar or cervical condition, and gradually, or in jumps, showing a deterioration accompanied by a generalisation of complaints. Various factors are probably instrumental in triggering off the fibrositis syndrome. The most important ones are emotional stress whereby symptoms of fear, depression, etc. lead to muscle tension and insertion tendinitis. Somatic factors such as malposition of the spinal column, may also contribute towards the manifestation of the clinical picture. The so-called secondary fibrositis syndromes should be defined from the point of view of differential diagnosis; they can develop within the framework of inflammatory rheumatic conditions, through infections and endocrinopathy.

10 WAYS TO EASE A MUSCLE CRAMP

Cramps are unpleasant, often painful sensations caused by muscle contraction or overshortening. Common causes of skeletal muscle cramps may include muscle fatigue. we are listing few ways to relax your cramps....

1. Hydrate yourself
Dehydration is one of the biggest culprits of muscle cramps. When you feel your muscles tensing into a cramp, it could be a sign that your body is dehydrated. Immediately drink water before the pain gets too bad.

2. Massage It
The minute you get a cramp, gently massage the muscle that is cramping. Rub the knots that have formed in the muscle to ease the sharp pain. Make sure you rub in the natural direction of the muscle though.

3. Warm Bath
Warmth eases tension in the muscles. If you’ve been struck by a cramp, hop in for a long, warm shower. It will relieve the pain, relax the cramped muscle and make you comfortable. And you’ll feel much fresher afterwards too!

4. Stretch
When you have a muscle cramp, stretching can help ease it. If you have a cramp in your calf for example, stretch your leg out with your toes pointing upwards and towards your head. Hold this for around 30 seconds. It also works for cramps in your thighs.

5. Magnesium Oil
Magnesium oil is hard to source, but it’s a really good remedy for muscle cramps. It is a natural muscle relaxant. All you have to do is massage the oil into the cramp in order for it to be relieved within minutes.

6. Go Ayurvedic
There are several Ayurvedic solutions for easing muscle cramps, including mustard seeds. Saturate a tub of hot water with a homemade tea bag of brown or black mustard seeds. When you have a cramp, immerse your feet in the tub for around 20 minutes and your muscle cramps should be relieved.

7. Ice Pack
If you have a really bad cramp, rubbing an ice pack over it can help with the pain. Rub the ice pack over your muscle till your skin becomes red. The redness is an indication that blood is flowing back into the muscle and the cramp should ease.

8. Cover Up
Sometimes muscle cramps occur when the muscles tense up due to colder temperatures than your body is comfortable with. So, the minute you feel a cramp coming on or when you’re struck by one, cover yourself with a blanket or switch off the air conditioner if you’re indoors. The warmth will get rid of the muscle tension and the cramp.

9. Electrolyte supplements
Muscle cramps can also be caused because of an imbalance of electrolytes in your system. Make sure you take supplements that you need daily. Also, while suffering from a cramp, something salt heavy such as an electoral can help ease the pain.

10. Apple Cider Vinegar
Drinking a mixture of apple cider vinegar everyday will help keep muscle cramps away because they are a source of potassium. However, if you suddenly get a muscle cramp, drinking some with a tsp of honey in some warm water will give your cramps instant relief.
