WORLD NO TO***CO DAY 2025 was Celebrated by Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology with theme “Unmasking the Appeal: Exposing Industry Tactics on To***co and Ni****ne Products” this year at National Dental College and Hospital, Dera Bassi. The function was presided over by the Chairman Sir and Principal Sir of the college and the event was commemorated with a series of activities aimed at raising awareness about the harmful effects of to***co and promoting a to***co-free lifestyle.

Key Activities
-Oral Cancer Screening Camp: A free oral cancer screening camp was organized for 2 weeks and around 500 patients were benefitted.
- Lecture about To***co & its ill effects on society was conducted at New Cambridge International School, Dera Bassi.
- Pledge Ceremony: Workers and paramedics took a pledge to promote a to***co-free environment.
- Smoke Analyzer Demo was given to undergraduates and Interns.
- Poster Making and Reel Making Competitions
- Walkathon
- Play
- Signature Campaign
- Prize Distribution Function: Winners of the poster making and reel making competitions were felicitated with prizes.

A workshop on CPR and AED (BLS) Skills under the aegis of INSCOL Health Skills was conducted at National Dental College and Hospital for three days from 15 April to 17 April, 2025. The program was organized under the guidance of Chairman Lt. Col (Retd.) GS Sandhu and Principal & Director Dr. Vinay S Dua. The program was coordinated by Dr. Rajan Rajput (HOD, Oral medicine and Radiology). The aims and objectives of the BLS course was shared and the participants were motivated to remain updated with current knowledge and advancements about the skills for the CPR Training. The program that was attended enthusiastically by more than 100 interns, post graduates, faculty, comprised of lecture & hands-on followed by a structured written and practical exam. Certificates were provided to qualified candidates.

We are delighted to share that the EBSCO Onsite Training Session at National Dental College, Dera Bassi, held on March 27, 2025, was a great success under the guidance of our esteemed Principal Dr. Vinay Dua Sir. Under the umbrella of Baba Farid University & Led by Mr. Lakhpat Singh, Senior Training Manager (India North) at EBSCO, the session provided valuable insights into optimizing research using EBSCO’s databases.The faculty members & students learned about EBSCO Discovery Service, PubMed, MEDLINE, and various advanced research techniques. At the end a quiz was conducted followed by prize distribution to the winners. We appreciate everyone who attended and made the session interactive and insightful.
