An Ayush Fair was organized at Palwala in Durgela Panchayat of Shahpur Assembly Constituency under the joint aegis of the Ayurveda Department, Himachal Pradesh, and the National Ayush Mission. On this occasion, Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania attended the event as the chief guest.
In his address, he said that the objective of such fairs is to create awareness among the general public about the cultivation, conservation, and promotion of medicinal plants, as well as post-harvesting practices. Along with this, people are also informed about traditional health practices under the Ayush system, such as daily routine (Dinacharya), seasonal regimen (Ritucharya), diet and lifestyle (Aahar-Vihar), and Panchakarma therapies.
He stated that Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine in India and the state government is continuously making efforts to promote it.
On this occasion, District Ayurvedic Officer Dr. Brijnandan Sharma welcomed the chief guest and OSD Ayush Dr Sunit Pathania and provided information about various schemes being implemented by the department. Dr. Kamal from the Herbal Garden Neri (Hamirpur) explained in detail the importance and uses of medicinal plants.
During the fair, a free multi-purpose health camp was also organized in which around 200 people underwent health check-ups. During the camp, 106 sugar tests, 78 X-rays, and 38 ECG tests were conducted. In addition, free medicines were distributed to the needy.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Whip Keval Singh Pathania also administered two drops of Swarna Prashan to children, which is considered beneficial for their health. He also distributed around 800 medicinal plants and planted an Amla (Indian gooseberry) sapling in the premises of the health institution.
