15-year-old Himanshu Sekhar Dash from Kaliapasi village, Keonjhar, is a bright student in Class 10 at Kaliapasi High School. Recently, Himanshu began experiencing pain and itching in his eyes, making it difficult for him to study and focus in class.

Concerned for his son's future, Himanshu's father took him to a local health centre, but his condition didn’t improve. Determined to find a solution, the family visited Kalinga Eye Hospital on 21st February 2025.

There, Dr. Srinibas and the pediatric optometry team conducted a detailed examination and recommended powered spectacles.

Today, Himanshu is back to reading, learning, and thriving. He can clearly see the blackboard and his textbooks, and his parents are relieved to see him smiling again.

A simple pair of spectacles has made a world of difference.

Bringing Clarity to Life: A Story of Hope and Vision

Meet Santosh, a passionate teacher from Odapada Village in Dhenkanal, Odisha. For months, his world blurred—literally. Reading, teaching, even replying to messages became a daily struggle as his vision deteriorated. Headaches, frustration, and the fear of losing his role as an educator began to take over.

But hope arrived.

Thanks to a free vision screening camp organized by Kalinga Eye Hospital in partnership with Shri Rajchandra Love & Care, Santosh discovered that all he needed was a simple pair of glasses.

💡 A quick diagnosis.
👓 A pair of spectacles.
✨ And a life transformed.

With clear vision restored, Santosh can now teach, read, and live with dignity and confidence. His story is one of many in rural India where preventable vision problems go unnoticed—and untreated.

With your support, we can bring hope to more lives. Because vision is not just about seeing—it’s about living fully.

"From Kaania Bou to Purnima – A Journey of Light and Dignity"

In the quiet village of Odapada, everyone knew her as Kaania Bou—the “blind bride.” Few remembered her real name: Purnima. She arrived there nearly four decades ago, a young girl barely into her teens, sent off to her new home as a bride. But instead of warmth, she was met with ridicule—mocked for her appearance, her clumsiness, and most of all, her poor eyesight.

The nickname Kaania Bou stuck from the very day she stumbled over a water bucket, unaware it was even there. “Are you blind?” someone had shouted. And just like that, the name—and the label—stayed with her for life.

Years passed, and the world knew her only by that name… until one day, while accompanying her aging father-in-law to an eye camp at the village school, her life took a turn.

A team from Kalinga Eye Hospital, in collaboration with Shri Rajchandra Love & Care, gently encouraged her to get her eyes tested. The result? Purnima was suffering from high myopia—she wasn’t blind, she just couldn’t see clearly beyond a few meters.

Glasses were arranged and delivered with care. And when she finally wore them—truly seeing the world for the first time—it was a moment of transformation. Tears, joy, disbelief… all rolled into that one precious moment.

Today, the woman once known as Kaania Bou introduces herself with pride: “I am Purnima.” 💫

Huge gratitude to the compassionate team at Kalinga Eye Hospital and Shri Rajchandra Love & Care for restoring not just her vision, but her identity and confidence. ❤️

At 45, Manasi Maharana from Kulad Village, Angul is a proud mother, skilled tailor, and an inspiring woman who built her small business with passion and persistence.

When her vision began to fade due to frequent headaches and blurred sight, she feared she'd have to give up the work she loved. But a free eye camp by Kalinga Eye Hospital changed everything.

Diagnosed with Presbyopia, Manasi received her first pair of glasses — generously supported by Sri Rajchandra Love & Care. Though hesitant at first, those simple lenses brought clarity back into her life — literally and emotionally.

Now, she's back to creating beautiful clothes and empowering herself — one stitch at a time. 💫

Sometimes, all it takes is a clear vision to see a brighter future.
