From Star gazing to Soul searching - A journey of lifelong curiosity
As a child, I was fascinated by the mysteries of the universe. I would sit for hours with my gazing up at the stars and asking endless questions. "How far away are those stars? Why do they shine so brightly? What lies beyond what we can see?"
This curiosity led me down a path I never expected. First, it was a fascination with the physical world—planets, stars, and the vast cosmos. I devoured books on science, astronomy, and the wonders of space. But as I grew older, I realized that there was another universe, just as mysterious and vast, right inside each of us: the universe of the human mind.
This realization sparked a new journey. I pursued a career in medicine, where I delved deep into understanding the human body. But I soon discovered that the mind held even greater mysteries than the physical world. I began to see that our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs shaped our reality just as much as the stars and galaxies shaped the universe.
One of the most profound lessons I learned was that, just like the universe, the mind is infinite. It has its own galaxies, its own black holes, its own mysteries waiting to be uncovered. The mind can be a source of incredible strength, creativity, and joy, but it can also be a place of darkness, confusion, and fear. It is this complexity that makes the human mind so fascinating.
After going through a rough childhood and various failures in my life I I began practicing meditation as a way to calm my mind and find peace amid the chaos.
What I found was a profound sense of clarity. I realized that failure wasn’t an end but a beginning—a chance to explore a new path. Through mindfulness and meditation, I began to see my own mind as a vast, unexplored universe. I learned to observe my thoughts without judgment, to explore my emotions with curiosity rather than fear. I discovered that by turning inward, I could find the answers I had been searching for all along.
Today, as a psychiatrist i continue to explore both the universe outside and the universe within. I’ve come to understand that the journey of self-discovery is endless, much like the cosmos itself.
