ABCD of Food Allergy:-

*What is a Food Allergy?*

A food allergy is an abnormal immune response to a specific food protein, triggering symptoms ranging from mild discomfort to life-threatening reactions.

*Symptoms:*

1. Hives
2. Itching
3. Swelling
4. Stomach cramps
5. Diarrhea
6. Vomiting
7. Anaphylaxis (severe, life-threatening reaction)

*Diagnosis:*

1. Medical history
2. Physical exam
3. Skin prick test (SPT)
4. Blood tests (IgE levels)
5. Oral food challenge (OFC)
*Prevention:*

1. Breastfeeding
2. Introducing solids gradually
3. Avoiding high-risk foods in infancy
