Students from Diphu Medical College and Hospital once again excelled in the Final MBBS examinations. Raja Agarwal secured rank with honours in Surgery and Otorhinolaryngology, while Mumina Begum secured rank with honours marks in Surgery, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, and Paediatrics.

In addition, a total of 12 students obtained honours marks in Otorhinolaryngology, 4 in Ophthalmology, 5 in Surgery, and 1 in Paediatrics.

A felicitation programme was held at in honour of the successful students. The programme was attended by the Respected Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent Madam Prof. (Dr.) Sumitra Hagjer, MEU Coordinator Madam Prof. (Dr.) Ritu Saloi , Superintendent Sir Prof. (Dr.) Pinpo Teron, and other faculty members.

A total of 89 successful students were felicitated during the event. The Respected Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent Madam, MEU Coordinator Madam, and Superintendent Sir delivered meaningful speeches, encouraging and congratulating the students on their remarkable achievement.

Students from Diphu Medical College and Hospital once again excelled in the Final MBBS examinations. Raja Agarwal secured rank with honours in Surgery and Otorhinolaryngology, while Mumina Begum secured rank with honours marks in Surgery, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, and Paediatrics.

An Exhibition cm Competition of embryology models made by Phase-I MBBS students was organized by the Department of Anatomy at . The first, second, and third best models among them were selected and awarded prizes.Respected Principal Madam graced the occasion and delivered a very suitable and meaningful speech for the students. The judges of the entire events were Prof.(Dr.) Ritu Saloi,HOD,Department of Anatomy, Prof.(Dr.) Dipti Bania, HOD, Department of Physiology and Prof.(Dr.) Bharti Devi,HOD,Department of Biochemistry.

In reality, the subject of embryology is somewhat difficult to understand because students find it very hard to grasp how the human embryo is formed and how different organs develop and grow simultaneously in different directions (3 dimensionally) along with the embryo.Through the process of studying the subject themselves and making the models(with easily available raw materials), the students have been able to become more self-reliant on the subject and have also been able to explain it to other students.

The Multi-Disciplinary Research Unit (MRU), Diphu Medical College and Hospital successfully conducted a one-day workshop on “Research Grant Writing and Manuscript Writing” under the esteemed guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sumitra Hagjer, Principal-cum-chief-Superintendent of Diphu Medical College and Hospital on 19th February, 2026.

The workshop featured insightful and enriching lectures delivered by distinguished invited speakers, including Prof. Probodh Bora, Dr. Debabrat Baishya, Dr. Debajit Borah, and Dr. Pankaj Barah.

The sessions focused on essential components of research grant proposal preparation, scientific writing techniques, manuscript structuring, publication ethics, and strategies for successful funding and publication. The workshop witnessed active participation from faculty members, postgraduate trainees, and research scholars, fostering a collaborative academic environment and strengthening the institutional research capacity.

Multi Disciplinary Research(MRU) Unit of Diphu Medical College and Hospital have organized a 3 day workshop on " Clinical Trial" from 13th to 15th November, 2025 funded by DHR-ICMR in collaboration with INTENT (ICMR). The program was inaugurated by Principal cm Chief Superintendent of DMCH Prof. (Dr.) Sumitra Hagjer in presence of Dr. Nisha Thakur, Scientist C, Department of Health Research, Ministry of Family Welfare. Participants from Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Assam Medical College and Hospital, Silchar Medical College and Hospital and MRHRU, Chabua have been actively involved in the workshop. The distinguished resource persons were Dr. R. M. Pandey,Emeritus Scientist From ICMR and various faculties from from Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai.

Priya from Diphu Medical College and Hospital has got honors marks in Anatomy,Biochemistry and Physiology subjects and secured the 1st rank among all medical colleges of Assam....
Moreover, total 8 students got honours marks in Anatomy subject, 1 student in Physiology and 1 student in Biochemistry subject.
