Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on the Occasion of National Road Safety Month – January 2026

On the occasion of National Road Safety Month (January 2026), a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized today on 16th January 2026 at the Blood Centre, Associated Hospital, Government Medical College Doda by the Office of the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Doda.

The said camp was inaugurated by Mr. Kapil Deol (JKAS), Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Doda.

National Road Safety Month is observed every year with the objective of creating awareness about road safety and promoting responsible behavior among road users. As part of this month-long observance, various awareness and welfare activities are conducted by the concerned department, and organizing a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp is one such noble initiative.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers, officials, and volunteers who came forward to donate blood, demonstrating a strong spirit of social responsibility and humanitarian concern. The medical team at the Blood Centre ensured the smooth conduct of the camp by adhering to all prescribed medical protocols.

This initiative not only highlighted the importance of road safety but also reinforced the message of saving lives and serving humanity.

🩸 A New Year Gift of Life | Blood Donation Camp – 01st January 2026 🩸

On the auspicious first day of the New Year, a Blood Donation Camp was successfully organised by the Blood Centre, Associated Hospital, Government Medical College Doda, in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Office Doda and 10 RR (Rajput), Arnora Ghat, Doda.

The camp witnessed overwhelming participation from the brave Indian Army Jawans of 10 RR (Rajput), dedicated CMO Office Doda employees, and responsible media persons, who voluntarily donated their precious blood units for this noble humanitarian cause.

At the conclusion of the camp, Blood Donation Certificates were presented to the donors by Lt. Col. Sharat Chingakham, Officiating Commanding Officer, and Regimental Medical Officer Capt. Dr. KTV S. Radha Krishna, in recognition of their selfless and life-saving contribution.

Their noble gesture has significantly strengthened the blood inventory of the Blood Centre and will help in providing timely support to patients in critical need.

The Blood Centre, AH GMC Doda extends its heartfelt gratitude to all donors and collaborating departments for making this humanitarian initiative a grand success.

🌟 A True Act of Heroism at Blood Centre AH GMC Doda! 🌟

Today, we witnessed a moment that truly defines what it means to serve humanity. At Blood Centre AH GMC Doda, we faced a critical situation — a patient admitted in the Department of Surgery urgently required a rare AB Negative blood unit. Unfortunately, this life-saving blood group was not available in our stock.

In this crucial hour, Dr. Sumat ul Khurshid, Head of the Department Blood Centre, reached out to the MBBS students for help — and that’s when a hero stepped forward. 💪🩸

Without a second thought, Mr. Dawood Dar, an MBBS student at GMC Doda, responded immediately to this noble call. He came forward and donated the rarest and most precious gift — a unit of AB Negative blood — to save the patient’s life. ❤️

His selfless gesture reflects the true spirit of medical service — compassion, responsibility, and dedication toward humanity.

After his noble donation, and on the directions of HoD Blood Centre Dr Sumat ul Khurshid he was honoured with a Blood Donation Certificate presented by Dr. Mahvesh Sheikh (Senior Resident), acknowledging his heroic contribution. 🏅✨
