Dowry Deaths!!! Harassment of women!!!
Are we seriously in the 21st Century? DWWS Naya Savera, my NGO (since 2012) and me personally(since 2010) are working on Gender Sensitization and vow to continue working till every girl finds herself equipped to lead her life confidently and successfully!
It is crucial,
That every human being understands the value of being alive, that parents understand “what it means to be supportive towards their children !”, that there is much more to live for than to give up on life!!!
Just a few which have surfaced , it’s just the tip of the iceberg! Who should be held responsible for these deaths?
Parents? In laws? Husband? Victim herself? Our social customs which should actually be time barred with advent of education and progress??? Lackadaisical attitude of Law enforcement agencies???
Cases of Suspected Dowry Deaths
1- Vaishali Hagwane (widely discussed case due to political connection of the accused)
2- तुळजापूर (ता. जि. परभणी) 25/05/2025 गावातील गणेश बोचरेंनी (22 yrs age Pooja Bochare)मुलगी पूजाचे लग्न शेलवाडीतल्या गजानन निर्वळ यांच्यासोबत पक्के केले. लग्नात थेट हुंडा न घेता त्यांनी फ्रिज-कपाटापासून सर्व घरगुती सामानाची मागणी व लग्न चांगल्या पद्धतीने करून मागितले. ३ डिसेंबर २०२४ ला लग्न झाले. त्यानंतर पूजा नवरा, सासू-सासरे, नणंद व तिच्या २ मुलांसह पुण्यातील स्पाइन सिटीत राहायला आली. सुरुवातीचे ३ महिने आनंदात गेले. मात्र नंतर गाडी घेण्यासाठी माहेरून ५० हजार रुपये आण, असा तगादा पती गजानन निर्वळ याने पूजाकडे लावला. आधीच लग्नाची उसनवारी झाल्याने वडिलांनी पैसे देण्यास नकार दिला. येथूनच पूजाला पतीकडून मानसिक व शारीरिक त्रास देण्यास सुरुवात झाली. दुर्लक्षित हुंडाबळी?पूजाचे वडील ट्रक ड्रायव्हर आहेत. आई दुसऱ्यांच्या शेतात मोलमजुरी करते. आई रेखा बोचरे यांनी सांगितले, झेपत नसतानाही लग्नात ३ लाखांचा खर्च केला. २ लाखांचे सामान दिले.

Nashik Father-Son Duo Arrested In Case Of Abetment Of Su***de

Nashik: The city police on Sunday arrested a 35-year-old man and his 65-year-old father for their alleged involvement in a 33-year-old woman's su***de on May 19.
Following a complaint lodged by the deceased woman Bhakti Gujrathi's father, the Gangapur police filed a case against Bhakti's husband, Atharva, and his parents on May 20 for abetment of su***de. The father-son pair had absconded after the FIR registration.
Police commissioner Sandeep Karnik instructed the anti-gunda squad to catch the accused. The investigation revealed that the suspects had fled to Navsari in Gujarat.
Upon informing DCP (crime) Prashant Bachhav and ACP (crime) Sandeep Mitke, a team was sent to Gujarat. The authorities subsequently detained both Atharva and his father from separate locations in Vansda, Navsari, Gujarat.
According to the Gangapur police, Bhakti and Atharva's marriage took place in 2017. Her father's complaint indicated that while it was a love marriage, they conducted a formal wedding ceremony in Dec 2017.
The complainant reported that post-marriage, Atharva used to physically abuse Bhakti while intoxicated. In Jan this year, she sought refuge with her parents, citing unbearable harassment. After a few months, Atharva took her back, assuring her parents of better treatment. On May 19, overwhelmed by continued harassment, the woman took her life. The Gangapur police continue their investigation into the matter.
