Guha who was a resident of Dum Dum along with other few member of medical profession who felt necessity for formation of IMA Branch in Dum Dum. Mitra Road, Dum Dum Cantonment who was selected as president of IMA Dum Dum Branch and Dr. Sunil Kumar Bishnu as Honorary Secretary meeting was attend by Dr. Probodh Kr. Das. Dr. Prem Kumar Das and Dr. Netai Ch. Dey. Dr. P.K. Guha was the GENERAL SECRETARY OF IMA Hd.Qrt. in 1942 and was a resident of Dum Dum. Since the formation of the Branch and partition of Bengal, new Doctors enrolled. Branch activities started since 1942 with guidance and as per memorandum, rules and bye- laws of IMA Bengal State Branch. At the onset, i.e. before the shifting of IMA. Office at the newly purchased building at 561, Jessore Road. Dum Dum Kolkata- 28 the executive body meeting and the general body meeting used to be held at the residence of various members, Club House, Municipal Hall etc. All the expenses are usually borne by the host. Clinical meetings were also held at different places particularly at big houses. Before the functioning of IMA in the permanent IMA building at 561, Jessore Road from 1979 it initially started activities from the premises of DDMC at 3A, Pollock Avenue Kolkata -28.
