പകുത്ത് നല്‍കിയ ഹൃദയം വീണ്ടും മിടിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി. മസ്തിഷ്‌ക മരണം സംഭവിച്ച കിളിമാനൂര്‍ സ്വദേശിയായ ജയി ജയക്കുമാറിന്റെ ഹൃദയമാണ് മലപ്പുറം സ്വദേശിയായ 15 കാരിയിൽ മിടിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയത്.

ലിസി ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ ഡോ. ജോസ് ചാക്കോ പെരിയപ്പുറത്തിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലാണ് ശസ്ത്രക്രിയ പുരോഗമിക്കുന്നത്.

വ്യാഴാഴ്ച പുലര്‍ച്ചെ നാല് മണിയോടെയാണ് ഡോ. ജീവേഷ് തോമസ്, ഡോ. ജോ ജോസഫ്, ഡോ. അരുണ്‍ ജോര്‍ജ് എന്നിവരുടെ നേത്യത്വത്തിലുള്ള മെഡിക്കല്‍ സംഘം തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തേക്ക് തിരിച്ചത്.
സംസ്ഥാന സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ വാടകക്ക് എടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ഹെലികോപ്റ്ററില്‍ മെഡിക്കല്‍ സംഘം ഉച്ചക്ക് 1.45ന് തിരുവനത്തപുരത്ത് നിന്നും ഹൃദയവുമായി പുറപ്പെട്ട് 2.40 ഓടെ ഗ്രാന്റ് ഹയാത്ത് ഹോട്ടലിന്റെ ഹെലിപ്പാടില്‍ എത്തിച്ചേരുകയും പോലീസ് സേന ഒരുക്കിയ ഗ്രീന്‍ കോറിഡോറിലുടെ നാല് മിനിറ്റ് കൊണ്ട് ലിസി ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ എത്തി ശസ്ത്രക്രിയ ആരംഭിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. 5.30 ഓടെ പുതിയ ശരീരത്തിൽ ഹൃദയം സ്പന്ദിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

ലിസി ആശുപത്രിയിലെ 32-ാമത്തെ ഹൃദയം മാറ്റിവയ്കല്‍ ശസ്ത്രക്രിയയാണ് ഇത്. ഇതില്‍ ഒന്‍പത് തവണയും വ്യോമ മര്‍ഗ്ഗമാണ് ഹൃദയം എത്തിച്ചത്. പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായും സൗജന്യമായിട്ടാണ് ഹെലികോപ്റ്റര്‍ സേവനം സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ വിട്ടു നല്‍കിയത്.
