ஈரோடு சுதா மருத்துவமனையில் சாலை விபத்தில் மூளைச்சாவு அடைந்த தனியார் பள்ளி ஆசிரியரின் உடல் உறுப்புகள் பல்வேறு நோயாளிகளுக்கு தானமாக வழங்கப்பட்டது.
கரூர் மாவட்டம் பவுத்திரம் பகுதியை சேர்ந்த கண்ணன் மகன் பூபதி (37). இவர், தனியார் பள்ளியில் ஆசிரியராக பணியாற்றி வந்தார். இவருக்கு திருமணமாகி மனைவி, ஒரு மகன், மகள் உள்ளனர். பூபதி கடந்த ஜனவரி மாதம் 29ம் தேதி திருச்செங்கோட்டில் இருந்து பரமத்தி வேலூர் சாலையில் சென்று கொண்டிருந்தபோது ஏற்பட்ட சாலை விபத்தில் தலையில் பலத்த காயம் அடைந்தார். இவரை அக்கம்பக்கத்தினர் மீட்டு சிகிச்சைக்காக ஈரோடு பெருந்துறை சாலையில் உள்ள சுதா பல்நோக்கு மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதித்தனா். சுதா மருத்துவமனையின் மருத்துவர்கள் குழு பரிசோதனை செய்து பூபதி மூளைச்சாவு அடைந்ததை உறுதி செய்து, பூபதியின் குடும்பத்தினர் மற்றும் பெற்றோரிடம் தெரிவித்தனர். இதையடுத்து பூபதியின் உடல் உறுப்புகளை தானம் செய்ய பூபதியின் மனைவி மற்றும் பெற்றோர் ஆகியோர் தாமாக முன்வந்து, அதற்கான ஒப்புதல் படிவத்தில் கையெழுத்திட்டனர். இதைத்தொடர்ந்து தமிழ்நாடு உடல் உறுப்பு தானம் மையத்தின் வழிகாட்டுதல் மற்றும் அனுமதியுடன், பூபதியில் உடலில் இருந்து இரண்டு கண்கள், கல்லீரல், இரண்டு சிறுநீரகங்கள், தோல், எலும்பு போன்றவை அறுவை சிகிச்சை மூலம் நேற்று தானமாக பெறப்பட்டது. உடல் உறுப்புகள் தானம் பெறுவோர் பட்டியலில் பதிவு மூப்பு அடிப்படையில் கல்லீரல் கோவையில் உள்ள கேஜி மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள ஒரு நோயாளிக்கும், ஒரு சிறுநீரகம் கோவை KMCH மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள ஒரு நோயாளிக்கும், மற்றொரு சிறுநீரகம் ஈரோடு சுதா மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள ஒரு நோயாளிக்கும், தோல் மற்றும் எலும்புகள் கோவை கங்கா மருத்துவமனைக்கும், இரண்டு கண்களும் ஈரோடு அகர்வால் மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள நோயாளிகளுக்கும் தானமாக வழங்கப்பட்டது. இதையடுத்து பூபதியின் உடல் அவரது குடும்பத்தினரிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டு, கரூர் மாவட்டத்தில் அரசு அதிகாரிகளின் மரியாதையுடன் அடக்கம் செய்ய அனுப்பி வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இத்தகவலை ஈரோடு சுதா மருத்துவமனையின் நிர்வாக இயக்குநர் டாக்டர் சுதாகர் தெரிவித்தார். மேலும், அவர் கூறுகையில்,
உடல் உறுப்பு தானம் செய்வது குறித்து அதிகளவில் விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டு வருகிறது. தமிழ்நாடு அரசு உடல் உறுப்புகளை தானம் செய்பவர்களை ஊக்கப்படுத்தும் வகையில் உறுப்புதானம் செய்பவர்களுக்கு இறுதி சடங்கானது அரசு மரியாதையுடன் செய்து வருகிறது. உடல் உறுப்புகள் தானம் செய்வதன் மூலம் ஏராளமான மனித உயிர்களை காக்க முடியும், என்றார்.
