Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers that women face.
There are things you can do to lower your risk.
Know your family history. If you have a close relative who has had breast cancer, you may be at a risk. Talk to your doctor about your family history and whether you should be screened for that.
Get the support of an ayurvedic physician and balance your doshas
Understand your risk factors. There are certain factors that can increase your risk of breast cancer, such as family history, being overweight, smoking, drinking alcohol etc. Talk to your doctor about your personal risk factors and what you can do to reduce your risk.
Be aware of your breasts and learn to self examine. It’s important to be familiar with how your breasts normally look and feel so that you can report any changes to your doctor.
The earlier breast cancer is found, the better.
Be on the lookout for changes in your breasts, such as a lump, thickening, or change in the shape or size of your breast. Other signs and symptoms of breast cancer include changes in the skin of your breast, such as redness or a rash, and changes in your ni**le, such as discharge or a change in the direction it points.
Seek medical attention immediately if you notice any changes
If you have already been diagnosed with breast cancer, it can be emotionally challenging. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed after a breast cancer diagnosis. Consider any treatment process as an aid to make you feel better. Be with people who are positive, take care of your thoughts and channelize your thought energy to how to go through this phase. Keep affirming "this too shall pass. Be sure to eat a healthy diet, get sunshine, go for walks, breathe fresh air, watch moon, chant, and get plenty of rest.
If you have already practiced yoga, dont miss your practice while going through this challenge. Your practice should be with you when you are suffering, not just whenever you have time or feel better. Customize your daily practice to support the healing process.
You may also want to consider joining a support group so that you will not feel alone. Stay positive Any challenge is give to us only to strengthen us. Learn and move on in life.
