Proud Moments at RAIS Artopia!

On November 9, 2024, our talented Grade 6 & 7 students from shone brightly at the RAIS Inter-School Art Competition, Artopia, held at The Hillside Prep Cambridge International School in Coimbatore.

Our young artists Suchit P.S. and Sharan G. took on the Art Installation on Canvas theme with creativity and innovation, winning an impressive 2nd Prize!
Their artwork captivated the judges, earning high praise for its originality and vision.

A huge congratulations to Suchit, Sharan, and their dedicated mentors!

🍴 Snack Symphony: Fresh to Flame! 🍲🔥

Our talented Grade 6 and 7 students at The Vels Academy turned up the flavor in the "Snack Symphony" cooking competition! With creativity and skill, each team crafted snacks from fresh ingredients to sizzling masterpieces, judged by our esteemed guests, Mrs. Athilakshmi and Mr. Kavin.

The Vels Academy Adventure Hike

Students and parents joined us for an unforgettable 2km trek to the Kanakachalakumaran Temple!
Along the trail, they refreshed at 5 Hydration Zones before arriving to enjoy a breakfast together in the serene temple setting.

Afterward, the group continued to the beautiful Semur Canal for a relaxing rehab session.
Guided by our dedicated PET staff and supported by parent volunteers, everyone enjoyed a safe and joyful time outdoors.

A day filled with nature, bonding, and unforgettable memories!

We are thrilled to announce that our Grade 7 team has taken 1st place at the RAIS Drama Competition! Their powerful performance, centered on personal growth, captured the judges' attention and secured them the top spot. Our Grade 6 team also delivered an outstanding performance in the under-12 category with a creative, problem-solving themed drama. Both teams displayed incredible talent and dedication, and we couldn’t be more proud!

RAIS Basketball Tournament at Golden Gates Earth School, Salem

Our basketball Team from The Vels Academy put up a fantastic performance at the RAIS Tournament!

In the first match, we faced off against Golden Gates Earth School, followed by a tough second match against K'SIRS Kovai.

Despite fierce competition, we fought hard and proudly secured 3rd position in the tournament!

Well done, team! Your determination and sportsmanship are inspiring!

Our 6th and 7th graders brought nature to life with stunning Ikebana creations!
In a display of balance and beauty, Sparta House emerged as the winner in our Intra-School Japanese flower arrangement contest, competing against four houses.

Our Grade 6 & 7 students showcased incredible teamwork and determination, securing 4th place in the Under 13 Category at the State Level DBSS Community League 9th Edition, held at Rajendran Matric Higher Secondary School, Vadugapatti, Erode.

RAIS Athletics Tournament Success!

We are thrilled to announce the outstanding achievements of our students at The Vels Academy during the RAIS Athletics Tournament held at Nehru Stadium, Coimbatore!

🥈 Abhinav won the Silver Medal in the Under 12 Boys' Shot Put event!
🥉 Sai Raksha secured the Bronze Medal in the Under 12 Girls' Shot Put event!
🥉 Smirthii & Aishwarya each clinched a Bronze Medal in the Under 12 Girls' High Jump event!
🥉 Mahathi earned the Bronze Medal in the Under 14 Girls' 400 Metres event!

To top it all off, our team completed a perfect march past with precision and pride!

Congratulations to all our athletes for their dedication and hard work!

"Grade 6 students from The Vels Academy had an exciting field trip to the GD Museum, Coimbatore. They explored 'Experimenta,' where they engaged in hands-on science and math experiments, guided by knowledgeable facilitators. The adventure continued at the GD Car Museum, showcasing antique cars, a classic bus, and even electric vehicles from iconic brands like BMW, Volkswagen, Rolls Royce, and Benz. The trip wrapped up with a visit to the Science Museum, where students marveled at collections of transistors, telephones, computers, a plasma ball, a thermal camera, and more. A day of exploration and learning!"

We had an unforgettable storytelling workshop at The Vels Academy, where imagination took center stage!

Mr. Vikram delighted us with his engaging standup show, blending humor and performance to bring his stories to life. Meanwhile, Ms. Celin enchanted us with her unique storytelling style, captivating hearts with every word.

Independence Day at The Vels Academy

Our students proudly celebrated the spirit of freedom with a grand march past, followed by a ceremonial flag hoisting by our esteemed Chief Guest, Mrs. Dharani Sriram, Vice President at SAP Labs. The highlight of the day was the incredible performances by Grades 6 and 7, featuring a musical tribute and a thought-provoking drama on the concept of National Land. The rest of the grades watched in awe, making it a truly memorable and patriotic day for all!
