It is possible to save the limb in most cases of bone tumors. Very successful treatment protocols with excellent functional and oncological outcomes are now available for patients with bone sarcomas. Routine use of amputation (surgical removal of limb) is now history and limb salvage surgery is the standard of care.

Surgery is a crucial component of curative treatment for esophageal cancer. Historically, esophageal cancer surgery has been associated with high risks and relatively high morbidity and mortality rates. However, the introduction of minimally invasive approaches (VATS/Laparoscopy) and enhanced intraoperative and postoperative intensive care has significantly reduced morbidity and mortality, making them exceptions rather than the norm. Nevertheless, it is a major surgical procedure, and careful case selection is essential.

The incorporation of robotic surgery has further enhanced the safety and precision of this procedure. This innovative technology combines the benefits of both open and laparoscopic surgeries, providing surgeons with improved outcomes.
